No promoter helps other promoters but the PBC curtain has this weird aura of "everyone else ducks our fighters" and its usually the exact opposite.

Tank Davis ducked Lomachenko for years.

Spence has ducked Crawford for years.

Jermall Charlo rejected a contract for Canelo when he was with GBP.

Plant is now ducking Canelo. If Plant wanted the fight he could fight Canelo on a 1-fight contract with TR, Matchroom, GBP, DAZN, etc. The point is letting Haymon work his asshole like a puppet...and Plant will only fight Canelo if his Dad, Al Haymon, is satisfied. Haymon is changing the contract for Canelo v Plant to benefit himself (Haymon). He wants Canelo on a 3-fight deal and is no longer willing to do a 1-fight deal because Plant may lose the title.

The asset management by Haymon (PBC) are the EXACT REASONS why people hate on Top Rank, GBP, Matchroom, etc. We watched it happen with Lomachenko for years. We watched it happen with Crawford for years. Now we're watching Plant and PBC/Haymon prevent unification.

Again, this ONLY hurts the fighters. That is the surprising thing about PBC fighters. Plant literally made $750,000 in his last fight against Truax. He is set to make $10,000,000 against Canelo. Plant will NEVER come close to that purse again and is willing to let Haymon screw him out of - literally - MILLIONS. That is literal insanity and ******ity.



If Canelo is DEMANDING the same replacement money its probably for a reason. Where is Caleb Plant from? Southern United States. What color is he? White. Does he look like a deplorable? Yes.

The original premise was that Plant would fight on DAZN vs Canelo. Any sensible fan would know this, A side Bidness.

then when Haymon throws a wrench for insecurity he creates this multi deal again. The original was $75 mil by PBC when Canelo was in legal with DAZN.

This is just ******. We have all the media reports which detail why the talks broke down. We haven’t yet seen a response from canelo denying this.

I don’t think anyone says he can’t or shouldn’t, I think for one Haymon wouldn’t allow him to (Just been honest here), two he has the last belt and they have tried to use that as leverage to dictate to Canelo (Seeing how he is keen on fighting for the last belt), moreover PBC/Fox seems to have come up with a better financial package for the boxers.

So unless I heard that DAZN match those offers but Haymon refuses to let Plant fight on DAZN, then I cannot really say much here.

He’s still getting paid but he’s not a mainstream star in the USA anymore. He still has value overseas but DAZN couldn’t get out of that long term contract fast enough.

From what I recall, Canelo never had a deal with DAZN. Canelo had a deal with GB and GB had a separate deal with DAZN to provide them Canelo fights. It sounds like splitting hairs but it isn't.

Plant’s manager, Al Haymon, owns a company that competes with DAZN. As such he wants to do the fight on the ppv platform because it benefits his company.

while your post makes sense in theory, this deal seems to have broken down because of what happens if one or another tests positive for COVID-19. From what we’ve read, Canelo was given significant concessions, per his request, that any cash cow would be able to negotiate.

It isn’t, as you framed it, the cash cow being put in a take it or leave it situation.

IMO; Plant is being unreasonable if he and his team think Plant can have a ppv fight on that date, for the same amount of money, if the fight gets postponed.

The reality is Ggg, charlo, Benavidez, Bivol or bieterbiev are all seen as more worthy and a better opponent by the majority of fans. If Plant gets hurt, I would watch canelo against any of them. As I think many would.

Canelo came up with additional demands (rematch and "Injury/illness etc clause") after it became apparent the fight can only happen on FOX, with PBC being in charge of organizing the event.
If the fight was on DAZN, with matchroom in charge, there would be no rematch demand or "illness clause".

btw, DAZN offered 40M to Canelo and 10M to Plant.
PBC countered, after seeing DAZN offer, with 40M+/10M+.
