He can’t go to DAZN because Haymon has the poor guy by the balls. He can’t wander too far.

Does anyone know for sure why the negotiations have failed? I have seen posters blame 1 side or the other but I'm curious as to what has really caused the problem.

He’s still getting paid but he’s not a mainstream star in the USA anymore. He still has value overseas but DAZN couldn’t get out of that long term contract fast enough.

You’re an absolute idiot. Lol. He’s not a mainstream USA star anymore yet he beat his own record in Texas. You seriously can’t be this dumb….

you’re 100% LDBC. You’re rationality is very elementary.

If everything is supposedly being held up by big bad Canelo expecting to get paid regardless of Plant pulling out of the fight, then why doesn't Plant take the same amount of money to fight on Dazn & let Dazn worry about contingency if Plant ducks out at last minute?

Oh, what's that you say? So pbc duckers are never expected to fight on a different network & are given a free pass while the literal cashcow who fights on Dazn is expected to cross the street & agree to a deal that locks him down anyways even if Plant does az he does best & ducks at last minute.

Why isn't anyone asking the obvious?

Since when does a cashcow mega draw have to take it or leave it at the whims of a paper champ?
Plant’s manager, Al Haymon, owns a company that competes with DAZN. As such he wants to do the fight on the ppv platform because it benefits his company.

while your post makes sense in theory, this deal seems to have broken down because of what happens if one or another tests positive for COVID-19. From what we’ve read, Canelo was given significant concessions, per his request, that any cash cow would be able to negotiate.

It isn’t, as you framed it, the cash cow being put in a take it or leave it situation.

IMO; Plant is being unreasonable if he and his team think Plant can have a ppv fight on that date, for the same amount of money, if the fight gets postponed.

The reality is Ggg, charlo, Benavidez, Bivol or bieterbiev are all seen as more worthy and a better opponent by the majority of fans. If Plant gets hurt, I would watch canelo against any of them. As I think many would.

And it's the highest guarantee Plant has ever seen or will ever see. Canelo is already ****** rich...it's Plant that needs the money.

So, again, why does Plant refuse to go to DAZN?

Haymon is trying to change the contract at the last minute from a 1-fight deal to a 3-fight deal. And that clause is being added to compensate Canelo's demands which, as the cash cow and face of boxing, are fair.

It is Haymon, PBC, and Plant being unreasonable. If Plant wanted the fight the negotiations would've taken 1-2 hours at DAZN. But Plant is more interested in sticking his fingers up Haymon's ass than lining his own pockets. The PBC platform is like a cult because it gets people to go against their interests.
