Most of Takam shots were actually picked off or blocked as well as not landing cleanly ,sure Takam landed some good ones but that’s a Joyce fight as always . . No way was Takam going to win that fight regardless. Joyce would have turned it up at any point if he thought he was sever behind on the score cards . Take the lose here in this one . Understand Joyce will be one of AJs toughest fights ,he will have a far better training camp then this one too .Last edited by REDEEMER; 07-25-2021, 04:38 PM.

I do think Takam's reaction after the stoppage this time shows he was weathering the storm and not out on his feet when the ref stopped it, but I only saw it going one way after that, and the ref isn't to know if you aren't returning fire.
To think Takam was robbed in either fight though is just inventing stuff to fit a narrative.

Takam forced that loss on to himself. I saw at least 3 punches in the sequence hit his temple and made his head wobble. It is not the ref’s job to allow you to get a brain injury. Nowhere in the ref’s job duties does it say to increase a fighter’s chance of getting a brain injury. One of the ref’s job duties is to make sure the fighters are safe from serious harm. That’s a huge responsibility. We have seen fights where fighters look okay to everyone, ref, fans, doctors, then die in the ring.
If something happens to a boxer in the ring, the family comes to the ref to point fingers, not only the corner or ringside doctors or athletic commission.
Ref’s no longer want that type of drama in their life. They much rather the boxer be alive and well, complaining about a stoppage, rather than the fighter being in a wheelchair with brain damage. Early stoppage or late stoppage, both hurt a fighter’s career in some way, so the ref has to pick the lesser of two evils.
You have boxer’s families start suing athletic commissions and ringside doctors, in a brutal sport where you sign up to put your brain on the line, then the athletic commissions will start making more policies and stress to the ref and doctors to please stop a fight prematurely if you have to.BodyBagz likes this.
