He was winning by 4-1 and landed all the big shots.
That was a controversial stoppage!
Either he was playing the possum role too well or he was done. He looked like he was trying to lure JJ in and catch him, but he waited too long and gave the ref no other choice.
I don’t have as much problem with the stoppage tonight as I had with his stoppage vs Joshua. Reason being that Joshua had mostly punched himself out and Takam had weathered the storm. Hurricane Joyce wasn’t going to blow itself out anytime soon.
Vs AJ and then again here he was just warming up, getting ready to come on strong and then the ref jumps in and stopped it saving AJ and now Joyce from a ko loss.

AJ was ready to go, gassed and crumbling, Takam looked strong and was ready to demonstrate his vaunted late KO power which he is famous for.,
Joyce was whooping on him. Even in the earlier rounds, I though joyce was landing the harder, cleaner shots. Just because one guy was pushing forward and swinging does not mean he wins the fight. Takam was taken down methodically. Joyce is the type of guy who does not have many fancy, eye-catching punches, but they hurt and has gotten him so many KOs.
I had Takam up 4-1, but he was going to be knocked out. The stoppage was early, but within reason. If not this round, he would have been koed the next round. Even in the fourth, you saw that Takam had used up too much energy in the first 3 rounds.
Props to Takam, a solid B level guy in his prime, but this now is more than past it!
