The reason I prefer boxing is that MMA is fighting without honour.

Striking is more exciting generally, but its the combination of the two sides that makes MMA unique. The grappling adds a **** ton more depth and variation and allows for more interesting stylistic match ups where there are more factors to consider. If it was just two guys kickboxing in a cage with small gloves it'd get boring fast imho, especially considering you could watch actual kickboxing (or muay thai) and see something technically similar but done to a generally better standard.

I think grappling can be pretty entertaining, it just takes longer to appreciate it because its not as immediately understandable as someone getting kicked in the head.

Integrity? boxing is possibly the most corrupt ****ed up dishonest sport on the planet.

Who decides whats prestigious? nobody gives a **** about 90% of boxing matches or boxers today regardless of their padded records or what alphabet title they are fighting for.

You have to be knowledgeable to understand grappling.

If you're not then it just looks like 2 guys dry humping.

But if you know wrestling or judo or bjj, grappling is very entertaining.

Because you know what they're doing and why.

Did you not watch Aljamain Sterling’s last fight? And more importantly do you even watch MMA? Tell me who your favourite fighter is?

        If you read the op.

He was talking about choking and kicking or punching ppl when they're on the ground..

All those stuff is usually legal.

Use your eyes......... That's all you have to do to understand why boxing will always be more prestigious.

You made a point that in boxing they do things they’re not supposed to. Suggesting that makes it ‘less honourable’ than MMA.

Fouls and illegal tactics are common in MMA also.

So in other words, just like "its more honourable", this is another abstract argument that boxing fans use in the face of MMA having most of the real tangible arguments in its favour lol.

"Okay MMA might be more entertaining, have more stacked cards, and give the fans the fights they want more...but like...boxing is more prestigious and ****...look..Bud is fighting another bum, look Canelo has the judges in his pocket again..so prestigious and honourable"

Yeah it takes quite a bit of effort and time to understand even the basics of the ground game. You need to learn the positional hierarchy, how it chains together, the subs available in each position etc etc. Its much much more technically deep than any form of striking, i mean the ground game in MMA even incorporates striking anyway.

I think the whole "oh they're dry humping" thing is dumb as well because some of the punishment high level grapplers can dish out is every bit as bad as you what you can face from a striker.

In your opinion its better to watch

the reason boxing is more prestigious is its older and mainstream longer

                  Nothing to do with aesthetics

Frankly i dont even like striking in mma

I'd rather watch boxing or muay thai

                  Far superior striking than mma

I like mma for the submissions

Nah you made a point that boxing is less honourable because of the fouls. You didn’t realise that’s MMA has rules and fouls too!

You watch MMA for the submissions? Which fighters do you like?
