The reason I prefer boxing is that MMA is fighting without honour.

I prefer the good old stand and fight.

Theres something to me about wrestling around on the floor, trying to choke people, punching peoples head in when they have been knocked down, kicking each other in the shins...

It's fighting with no honour, it doesn't surprise me that it's popular in this day and age, where honour is a dead concept amongst "men"

High profile deaths and serious injuries practically every year, paid off judges, endless backstage politics, masses of boxers who make a living off of taking dives for young prospects, racial undertones to fights, loaded glove incidents, literal in ring cannibalism.

But yeah, in MMA they kick each other in the shins!!!!

Boxing has way more BS outside of the ring. But it’s easier to quit in an octagon. Just look at Mcgregor vs Diaz 1. The sports top guy was getting his ass beat and shot knowing he was gonna get subbed. Not much different than for example Canelo hypothetically taking a knee to someone and staying down because he was fatigued and getting beat.

Lol what? in boxing you can take a knee while getting your ass kicked to buy a reprieve, and if you want out altogether you just dont answer the count. In MMA if you go to the ground you're getting followed there and beat up more. The only time its considered acceptable to tap is when you're caught in a submission that will otherwise seriously damage your limbs or choke you out within seconds, its even looked down upon to tap to strikes. on the ground. Theres much more towel throwing and quitting on stools in boxing too.

And Conor was being actively choked unconscious in the Diaz fight, how is that remotely comparable to someone taking a knee and not getting up when someone isnt even touching them anymore?

Boxing is not a realistic fight.

Besides, in mma all the things they do is allowed in the rules so honor has nothing do with it..

On the other hand in boxing, they do all the stuff that they're not suppose to.

Its actually less honorable, as if that matters anyway. They clinch when they're not suppose to. they headbutt. They hold and punch. Elbow and low blow and rabbit punch which isn't legal.

It's okay to like boxing more because you prefer stand up boxing.

It's re tarded to think it's more honorable.

Yeah you can go to the ground if you’re tired in mma and cover up or get choked. And the fans will just say you lost. In boxing if you’re tired, you can clinch or run. That’s it. If you want out, the fans will tear you apart.

True. Also, the most exciting part of MMA is when they're actually standing up and throwing punches. Everytime they go to the floor, it's scored as a takedown and for the most part it's the guy on top just running down the clock, and it's always done against exciting fighters.

But I still watch UFC events because the state of boxing right now is abysmal when it comes to watching it on TV and UFC is right there every month, almost unavoidable if you're a fighting fan - no wonder it took over boxing.

What you talking about Phyllis? Plenty of illegal stuff in MMA.

Eye pokes are super common, low blows, holding onto the cage etc etc. Rabbit punches aren’t legal in MMA either. Same for certain types of elbows which you still see happening.

Did you not watch Aljamain Sterling’s last fight? And more importantly do you even watch MMA? Tell me who your favourite fighter is?

So going to the ground, taking multiple 4oz gloved punches and elbows to the face until the ref decides to stop it, or allowing yourself to be put into a choke so you can tap...is an easier out than not bothering to get up from a knockdown in boxing?

There's integrity in boxing. It's far more prestigious.
