Exhibit A why MMA is better. MMA fighters don't have the privilege of hiding behind four sanctioning bodies as excuses to avoid fights.

"Dustin Poirier, will you give Conor McGregor a fourth fight?"

"I don't know, I mean I'd like to, but first I have to see if the WBA, WBC, IBF, or WBO will make me fight non-descript, undeserving mandatories first."

    What a miserable sport.

Pretty confident both guys will want a rematch but it's just the mandatory situation for both that will make it tricky. I already see Tim Tszyu is chomping at the bit for his shot. Hope it can be worked out. Boxing needs it to try and inspire fighters to go for Legacy and not just the paycheck.

Mell needs to make some adjustments. He can't fight Castano fighting off the backfoot. He needs to keep the action in the center of the ring. He has to keep Brian on the outside of his punches so that he cannot swarm Charlo on the inside with his flurries.

One other thing, I've noticed in the fight that Castano was the much faster and quicker of the two fighters. Mell missed a lot of his counter punches against Castano

Additionally, Brian was able to cut the ring off against Mell which made all the difference in the fight. He took away Mell's ability to box from the outside by cutting off the ring.

Yeah, I tend to think you're right. No immediate rematch on this.

Castano seemed to slow down in the last 4, probably because he was rocked again? He needs to keep busy, because he seemed to wait until the last 30-45 sec. of the round to get busy. Some judges won't give you credit for that last flurry, if you didn't do anything for the other 2:30! Charlo definitely needs to put pressure on Castano, and stay off the ropes! I know he wanted to bait him in, and he's definitely the stronger puncher, but judges might give Castano credit, just because Charlo is the one on the ropes! Only Ali, Floyd, and Fury are really good at that game! Mell ain't at that level!

Not unless there's some step aside money, and probably a lot of it!

Charlo moves up to 160, vacates all of the belts which get fought over in separate fight by fighters from obscure countries who no on has ever heard of.

It’s funny how everyone involved in Mells team all kinda gave the same “idk when but yeah we’d take a rematch” answer. Like wtf do you mean?? Where’s the energy you had before the first fight? Don’t you still wanna be undisputed? None of them mentioned mandatories being an issue. If Al wants this fight next it’ll happen next. Period. Does Mell & his team want it next ? I can’t say no but they don’t exactly seem eager to

Derrick James thought his man had lost the fight. He kept telling him he was down & that he needed a knockout. Something he’s never said to Mell or Errol in their close fights. After the fight was over the body language in that corner told it all, Mell was looking for reassurance & everyone seemed like they were too afraid to say how they really felt.

I thought at worst it was a 7-5 fight for Cantano. That 10/8 round they gave Mell was some absolute BS, it just seemed like they were looking for something to give him an edge. Castano was hurt no doubt but it wasn’t like he was out on his feet, with his hands down & getting wailed on. He kept his hands up, moved around and threw when he could until he cleared his cobwebs. My only issue is that he didn’t seem to know how to clinch. I just feel like if a guy doesn’t go down the round has got to be an absolutely one sided beat down for a 10-8 to be justified.

since Mell got home court advantage last time with 3 American judges, how bout next fight fight is in Argentina with 3 South American judges? That would only be fair right?

Yes, the winner had mandatory obilgations but there was no winner!

All the sanctioning bodies have agreed unifications over mandatories, haven't they?

So why not an immediate rematch, then the winner can move onto rotational mandatories?

Castano seems to want that renayvh more than charlo though . . . .

Trust me, I rather watch the rematch instead of some fringe Mando. I think one of the belts has a very overdue Mando and they can sue to fight the champ. Either there was a winner or not that obligation still has to be fulfilled one way or another.
