The final round was very competitive and was prolly the most even in the fight.

IMO, the last two rounds which most people gave to Charlo, were more even and not as clear cut for Charlo. Charlo big in the tenth, went for the kill at the start of the 11th, but by the last minute of the round Castano came back and finished strong.

Overall, the rounds which Castano won which was 7 of the rounds, were more clear cut than than the 5 Charlo won.
I agree about the last part. Mentioned that exact point in another thread.

1 - Castano - feel out round - Castano takes it pretty clearly based on activity

2 - Charlo - only real action of note happened when Castano got a few good shots in, then Charlo followed that up with better and more shots. I've seen some say Castano was hurt; I didn't really see that though.

3 - Castano - limited activity round, until late. Was probably Charlo's, but with Castano's big flurry late, it is as clear of a round as you can have.
4 - Castano - pretty clear round for him. He seemed to land some really good punches, more punches, and I didn't see a ton of work from Charlo in this round

5 - Castano - Charlo was busier than usual this round, which obviously helps him. He isn't the cleanest puncher, so he needs to be more active to give himself more opportunities. A lot of times he just paws with the jab and hits gloves or has a very light touch. Despite Charlo being more active, I can't see you not giving it to Castano. He answered everything Charlo threw and more in this round.

6 - Castano - not a lot of clean work from either guy in this round. But Castano was more active and landed more, and cleaner punches overall

7- Castano - clear as you can get. Jermell just getting outworked and outboxed. Even when he does land something big, it doesn't deter Castano, who continues to walk him down, and almost immediately answers with a big shot of his own. It's hard to see how anyone can give Jermell more than 2 rounds at this point. Even that feels a bit off. 6-1 Castano and the only other possible score at this time imo is 5-2 Castano.

8 - Castano - more of the same. Walking Jermell down, landing more punches, cleaner, and more hard punches.

9 - Charlo - I couldn't see all of the action in this round with the camera angle - looked fairly close. I'll give it to Charlo

10 - Charlo - great round from him. Got Castano hurt and followed it up pretty well. Unfortunately he couldn't quite put the nail in the coffin. That round is a great example of why Charlo is hard to beat - you can outbox him for as long as it lasts, but he has good stamina and good power late.

11 - Castano - Great round - tale of 2 rounds or even 3. First half was Charlo, starting where he finished round 10. Then Castano got back into his groove and walked him down again, and was landing big clean punches. Jermell closed the round well though and gave the judges something to think about scoring-wise. Gave round 9 to Charlo, so will give this one to Castano.

12 - Charlo - Another good round - good activity from both guys. I think Castano landed a few more good shots, but it was close. Again he walks Charlo down this round. Will slide it to Charlo but it doesn't really matter at this point. Castano easily could have gotten this round.

To sum up my card - Round 1 was a classic feel out round which Castano won based on activity. Round 2 was a clear Charlo round where he landed the bigger shots and more of them. 3-8 was all Castano. Just giving Jermell a boxing lesson and walking him down.

Rounds 9-12 had 3 close rounds, and 1 clear round for Jermell. If the whole fight went the way of those last 4 rounds, I could see a 7-5 either way type of fight and could certainly have seen a Charlo victory.

However he was mia for 7 of the first 8 rounds. No way you can give him a result in this fight, he is lucky imo to even get 4 rounds. Great job by Castano, did what he needed to do. Shame he didn't get the result, but that's boxing. What is worse is that you have many on here who claim Jermell really deserved a draw here.
