I think the paul brothers have done an amazing job from a marketing perspective on their "boxing careers". Each time Jake has presented it as a step up while keeping his risk low. First he could say he beat a "pro athlete" in nate. Then he can say he beat a "pro fighter" in hip replacement askren who was hand picked as the worse striker in ufc history. Now its another ufc fighter but it looks as though woodley has a bigger chance than he really does. Askren can in the fight with a pot belly and looked a lot smaller than paul. Woodley looks the part, he looks intimidating because he is ripped. He weighs about the same but the weight doesnt do much because his height and reach is smaller and he dont know how to close the distance as a boxer. He is used to lateral movement of MMA, of feinting take down shoots, of leg kicks ect. He dont know how to be a shorter guy with low reach and close the distance defensively, guys like Tyson, Hatton and Pacquaio with small t-rex arms did this all the time, it can be done but Woodley has never done this as a boxer.
I think the paul brothers will not take a fight they dont think they have atleast a 75% chance to win unless its for a huge name like Mayweather where the loss wont hurt their "career". If Jake gets sparked out his marketability tanks hard.
I will be pretty surprised if Jake actually fights Fury because that is at minimum a 50-50 fight and pretty high risk. Jake has so far always stacked things in his favor.
