He’s claiming racism and doing it with a flare for the dramatic. He is right by the way. The constant hate that the fighters he names get and others who are black American and with Haymon is inescapable. Even plant gets it with guilt by association. Having been a white who tends to side with darker peoples when it comes to systemic racism, I know how that feels. There’s nothing more hated by racists then one perceived as “their own” who isn’t on code with them.

No, many people that keep mentioning race because they're tired of dealing/living with it and choose to confront it in hopes of changing it through conversation. Ignoring cancer doesn't make it go away.

If someone is telling the truth about past and present conditions that can be substantiated, saying they have a "victim mentality" is a typical tactic a certain demographic uses to absolve the power structure of blame (which they may be a part of) and direct the blame at the feet of the victim.
