TIA. No one will ever explain this to me.

that was 10 years ago two weight classes down vs a guy who seen better days

Gamboa showed how good he is by hurting Crawford and dropping him

I've thought this about Crawford for a while, and for me it even applies to where he's from. You know, guys come from boxing hotbeds like Philly, LA, NYC, or major cities. Omaha isn't a place where I imagine he gets top-level sparring. Good enough for his amateur career maybe, sure, or his level of competition to date. After all, the guy is definitely talented. And, granted, guys come from nowhere places and do incredibly well. But there just isn't really anything about Crawford that says 'he stepped up' and if nothing else it's a disappointment.

Bud deserves more credit for beating Gamboa then he did Brook.

Yeah man Brook would have had a better career if his training mates were brothas and Mexicans

My comment meant simply that larger cities or boxing hotbeds having more diversity of fighter styles and talent walking through their doors on a regular basis

You do get experience better fighters you fight as a general. But sometimes someone bucks the trend and burst into the scene like a meteorite. Prince naseen hamed seemed to come from nowhere looking like finished article and beating everyone up until Kevin Kelly level started asking questions. But then people thought hamed wasn't what he was and had deteriorated by then?

Brook had fought literally no one outside of clinching the sloppy Porter for 12rd’s. Not remotely similar. Crawford is still more proven than Spence at this moment. The Pacquiao experience will go a long way for Spence.

Crawford has fought numerous world champions. Gamboa in his peak was probably more dangerous than Porter, considering he had power. Spence is on his first weightclass and the legit guys he’s fought he’s looked like nothing the people who big him up swore he was.

at least Brook can say he beat an undefeated Porter. that alone is better than any Bud win.

I had Porter winning that fight as well, Brook was so negative, holding, not wanting to engage. Even the Sky commentary had it 115-113 Porter.
