    He's terrified of Benavidez.
After Benavidez called him a *****, Plant says Benavidez waa the ***** for losing his belt on the scale and failing a drug test. That bad blood fight needs to happen if the Canelo fight doesn't happen. Charlo also says he'd fight Plant, but who knows if he really wants it.

So the reason why he is able to sit out for what he wants with Canelo because he does have some Decent Options so he is not in a Desperate Position like some fans want to believe he is

Hopefully Canelo fight gets done and I think it will...HOPEFULLY! As long as the money is right, Canelo going to PBC for a few fights should not be a issue since he is a Free Agent. Canelo don't have good Alternatives either though, his biggest fights and Legacy Fights unfortunately for him most of them just so happen to be with PBC
Outside of Canelo he has the same options just like any other Champion who only fights bums while waiting for the cash cow to bless him.

We all know what threats are available outside of Canelo. But why would he fight them when he has never shown the heart to want to fight them in the past.

If he is not blessed with the pay day of a lifetime with Canelo then he will just fight bums until the pay day comes to fruition again.

Fact is, if the Canelo fight doesn’t happen. There is absolutely no way Plant fights Charlo or Benavidez next.

Plant would just do the bum of the month thing. Pocket some money and just wait on Canelo.

The only way Plant fights Charlo or Benavidez is if he fights Canelo first and gets that 10mil and get knocked out. After he’d fight one of those guys to cash out his career.

If I were Plant I would be very upset. No where he will make 10% of what he would make on a Canelo fight without risking too loose.

                You make a valid point

Plant loses to Morrell, Benavidez and all those guys IMO! Even a Charlo coming up to 168 might beat him so yeah it is not a given that he holds on to that Belt and if that happens then yeah he loses out big time

You think Charlo would be a cash out fight for Plant? Charlo's power didn't carry up from 154 to 160, I doubt his power would be too much for Plant. I think it would be a good fight, but I'd give the edge to Plant right now. Benavidez stops Plant and Charlo
                   at 168 though.

I'm curious if Charlo is weight drained at 160 or if his power went away when he left 154 and stopped fighting the Centenos and Heilands of the division. He did land some leather Deveryenchenko who is pretty rugged. Matchup-wise, I think Plant and Charlo would be interesting. I could see Sweet Hands outboxing him early and fading down the stretch with it ending up being a close fight.

I think Benavidez is all wrong for Plant.

The strategy of mostly all these champions is to fight bums while waiting on the cash cow to bless them with a pay day of a lifetime.

Then once blessed they will take on other big threats as the fear of losing isn’t there as they have been already been blessed with a big pay day.

Basically Plant will NEVER fight Benavidez, Charlo, Morrell or any other threat who can’t bless him until Godnelo blesses him with a payday and knocks him out first.
