     at 168 though.
Well, Plant will never fight a Charlo, Benavidez, Morrell or any other threat until Godnelo blesses him with 10 mil and a knock out loss.

I dont see Plant beating Benavidez, Charlo, or Morrell. So Plant fighting them would essentially his last horrah type fight and a type of cash out. But none of those fights happen until Godnelo blesses him first.

Does anyone care is the question. If you're not challenging yourself and fighting the best (especially as a champion) you shouldn't be given the time of day by fans. His reign has been piss poor up to this point. Who is his mandatory right now? I can see him fighting another can and using the excuse of getting the mandatory (IBF rankings are terrible) out of the way so it leaves the possibility of the Canelo fight open later, same excuse he used before. I think he's talented and a real good fighter but you have to prove that against the best and he isn't doing that. Although he performed well against Uzcategui, I think him slowing down in the second half of the fight when Jose was waking up possibly did something to him mentally where he doesn't have as much confidence in himself as he used to, but I could be wrong.

Plant criticized Smith for taking the Canelo fight on short notice, saying it showed that Smith didn't believe in himself even with adequate time to train, so he took the fight for the paycheck. Plant has had one fight this year against a subpar opponent, if he believes in himself, he should take on a legitimate opponent if Canelo fights someone else.

I think it will be Dirrell - they were featured on back-to-back cards, I think they were supposed to be on the same card but something happened.

It would be one of Plant's better opponents but I just can't bring myself to care

It seems nobody cares, which makes sense because Plant doesn't really have a lot of fans. The people that defend him are usually PBC fans, but not necessarily Plant fans.

100% I agree. Plants a good fighter whos shown skill against 3rd and 4th rate opponents. But his “sweet skill” has been only against scrubs and no one of merit.

Yea he got the UD vs Uzcategui, but I think it’s an overrated win, which puffed up Plants head. I think Uzcategui was overrated. If Uzcategui was such a great fighter he’d still be in the mix of things. I do think that the latter part of Plants fight with Uzcategui t did something to his confidence as he’s made some trash defenses.

If Plant really wanted the Canelo fight he wouldn’t be complaining about Canelo’s request if Plant happens to pull out.

The fact that Plant is saying the problem with making the fight happen is because Canelo wants the same amount of money against a replacement if Plant pulls out over a training injury shows you where his head is at.
