This is how you end up with a guy like Crawford holding a belt for 7 ****ing years and going 37-0 yet nobody cares about him, or Wilder being 39-0 and on his 7th title defence before he faced an actual elite opponent. The UFC makes stars much more quickly and effectively and a big part of that is because fighters have high profile legacy building fights more frequently instead of padding their record for years while talking **** on Twitter.
You call the UFC a laughing stock when the biggest fights in boxing today involve Youtubers, MMA fighters and 50+ year old Mike Tyson exhibition bouts lol. I love boxing but lets be honest, the sport is on an overall downward trajectory and is just going to fall further and further behind MMA as time goes on.
