He was just chasing greatness at up at 130 trying to be the first Mexican 5 weight champ but too much is just too much. 126 is his home

Hahaha, not as bad as May-Pac happening 6 years too late but oh well they're not entirely over the hill at age 32.

      Big fight regardless.

Leo could've done a lot better if he hadn't fought Davis at 130. I could see him being more competitive with Valdez, Herring, etc. Santa Cruz-Russell is a good competitive fight for as long as it goes (decision fight). I don't think that will be next.

Valdez, Herring and Berchelt are all at Top Rank though. No point in going through all that mumbo jumbo network stuff when there's a big Gervonta Davis fight right on your plate.

I'd love to see Davis-Valdez fight though. That's clearly the biggest fight to make at 130

It’s a good style matchup too. Been wanting to see this fight ever since Leo moved to 126 in like 2015.

            It probably still won’t happen.

I thought he was competitive prior to being knocked out tbf. I don’t think he was outclassed, just came up against a bigger and better fighter.

Winning 1 or 2 rounds early before getting figured and knocked out cold is not competitive. He could've have gone a lot more rounds or even might have won against someone like Valdez.

He was competitive in every round up until the KO. Tank just out-gunned him, which most of us expected.

Would be interesting to see how GR handles Leo's constant pressure. I'm a fan of both so I don't know who I'd root for. Probably just root for a great fight.

Leo didn't take a sustained beating against Davis, so I don't think he needs a confidence booster. Additionally, LSC has been more active than Russell. If anyone needs a tune-up, it's Russell.
