He’s coming off a devastating knockout loss. I don’t see why he couldn’t make a couple of top ten level defences in 6-7 months. Russell will be there, he fights maybe once a year

Good fight. Shame it should have happened 4 f***ing years ago. Better late than never though I guess.

We’ve been in the same weight division for the last four years, and I’ve had the title for the last four years,” Russell said last year. “What’s the reason for him not fighting me then?

I recall GRJ going as far as wearing a t shirt after a fight that said something along the lines of " What's up Al? Leo next? " Now that Leo lost to Tank it's a fight he is willing to accept? Get it done then no excuses on either part.

It’s still the best makeable (in theory) fight at 126.

LSC knows he's at the crossroads! Go Big, or Go Home! GRJ has not had a KO since washed up Kiko Martinez in 2019! LSC should not be scared of his power. If he is, then he should just retire!

I don't know how realistic this is but nonetheless it is still a good match up.

The irony is Leo Santa Cruz has been very reluctant and ducking Gary Russell, Jr for years by saying "that he is not a box office Draw and he has no fanbase" but now all of a sudden he wants to fight him. I find that very interesting!

Leo needs to take a tune up fight before getting in the ring with Russell. That'll be another loss. I say Leo should beat a "can" first and then go into a Gary Russell Jr fight. That way the fight will be competitive.

Yes always good to take a tune up after a hard first loss like that. Glad he's back at 126!
