why would anyone think Crawford has achieved more than Spence? Crawford collects belts, not quality wins. The fights against Brook and Crawford are indefensible.

In all truthfulness, both those guys should be ashamed. Everyone is pointing fingers. Bottom line is if these guys wanted to fight each other it would happen. Neither one is even calling each other out. Someone has to make some noise for this to happen. Nobody is doing jack. The fighters, the promoters , nobody. It's a shame.

The irony and hypocrisy of Roy saying it's bad for boxing with those not wanting to prove who the best is. Roy spent his whole career ducking all the top fighters. Anyone who thinks Hopkins at the point he faced him, was one of the best, or even thought of as one of the best, clearly doesn't know boxing back in those days. As for Toney... Roy knew he was having serious difficulty with weight making, and that is why Toney is the only big name fighter he pursued. He never went after another name like that.

Spence doesn't want to fight Crawford. He's made that clear. He wants the easy road and all the plaudits for never having to prove it. He just wants to fool idiots he's a top fighter like the rest, when it's clear he hasn't beaten anyone worthy. He lost to Porter, beat a badly damaged Brook, and beat a long time loser in Garcia who hasn't done anything in his career other than take advantage of a Khan who was foolish with that move to bring about the KD after spanking him silly beforehand. Garcia made sure never to give Khan the opportunity he gave him because he knew what would have happened.

Anyone thinking they're going to fight the best in North America should know better by now. It's so boring having the same discussions for years with nothing to show for it. You should know it isn't going to happen unless the fighter they're supposed to fight looks way past it or is in bad circumstances. They're not fighters, they're vultures and cowards. Biding their time and waiting for that moment, otherwise they're not interested.

You’ve got to read between the lines a bit. This is Roy Jones. The first middleweight to capture a piece of the heavyweight crown. That’s what he considers his most important legacy. Of course he’s going to value winning titles across multiple divisions more than staying in one. Can’t see Spence winning a dammed thing at 168, can you? That’s what Bud has done. That’s where Roy is coming from and do you know what, I agree with him. Porter was beaten by Brook better than Spence did it. Garcia can’t hack it welter. He’s ducked Thurman. Regardless, Bud is by far the better, more fluid, faster fighter. Speed wins as his timing is probably better too. Spence is strong and has a great engine but boxing wise he’s nothing special and he’s got slow, flat feet.

I was following Roy until he said Bud has proven himself more. Maybe Roy just isn’t in the know. I give credit to Bud for undisputed but let’s be honest the names aren’t that impressive. I liked Bud’s run at 135 a bit better.

Sometimes Roy tries to lay down the gauntlet when he should be laying down a small hammer. His “opinions” sometimes come across as stone cold hard facts that should be adhered to. Roy didn’t fight everyone he was supposed to fight - or at the right time. I don’t remember him clamoring to get at the top dogs - not saying he didn’t want to.

I do remember Tarver though, trying very hard to get a crack at him. …..Back to Roy, Roy’s got that final authority vibe, like he knows something you haven’t a clue of..lol…I sometimes check his opinions out on YouTube - and find them overbearing & amusing at the same time, especially in his Floridian delivery/accent where he likes to pause a lot (with a slight frown… lol) to try and let his point stick…..I still like Roy, but I can also understand Spences response.

RJJ is biased as a commentator and here as well. While I feel EJ has accomplished more than Bud at 147 his body of work is quite shallow. EJ's only two elite wins which were his last two. I don't count Mikey because he's really a lightweight and went after the best without acclimation. And anyone with any boxing knowledge knew M. Garcia was in over his head even his own brother. So to say EJ's accomplished way more would be accurate if you're just bringing up the last two fights each have had.

Crawford is the top dog because he has 10 more pro fights under his belt and has ko’d every boxer they put in front of him at welterweight, after having fully unified at 140. Does anyone think those PBC stablemates Spence has beat on points would stand a chance against Bud.
I like both fighters and want to see the fight so we can stop speculating and have it play out in real time.
So I guess you also give Chavez Sr kudos for those 70 or so wins he had before fighting in the US? Opposition matters, and we have no idea if he could beat Mikey, Danny, or Porter and we won't until he actually fights one of them. You're pretending like Mean Machine and Horn could actually beat any of those guys. In the meanwhile Spence is training for a fight with Pac, while Terrance has the same Zepeda that lost to Ramirez lined iup for his next fight. To compare their resumes is a fools errand!

Spence has fought better fighters at WW. Maybe RJJ is factoring in all Bud accomplished at Jr WW as well. Regardless, I think we all would like to see Spence vs Bud, so there is no argument when he says he just wants to see the best vs the best. Everyone should be clamouring for that as one. And the pressure should be on both Spence and Crawford equally.

but michalczewski wanted roy to fight him in Germany.

Roy probably avoided a pacquiao Jeff horn situation.
Roy did say that he didn't want to fight him in Germany. But for Jones at the time it was slim pickings for top fighters at his weight. Unfortunately for him he got to 168 when all those champs were on their way out. Eubank, Benn, Collins, etc. At least he got James Toney.
