What is next for Luis Ortiz?

I would say him vs Ruiz but Ruiz looked like dog **** vs Arreola. I wouldnt mind the Martin fight. Im really suprised hes not on the Fury/Wilder "waste of time trilogy" undercard.Last edited by El_Mero; 07-01-2021, 07:48 PM.Comment

While I think Whyte is beatable and from what I recall has a fight by fight relationship with Hearn; I don't see PBC risking any of their stable against a guy who still primarily fights for Matchroom.
I think Ortiz only wants a cash-out or to fight soft opposition for decent paydays. I think PBC has done the latter not to potentially expose Wilder's biggest wins. Now that Wilder's career will either sink or swim with the Fury trilogy fight, maybe they put Ortiz in against one of their fighters with more upside (Ruiz, Wallin, etc).Comment

It's true. Whyte is not Hearn's lap dog. He's free as a bird and can fight anywhere.
Yet these PBC fighters keep calling him out and choose to do nothing when they're
backed by premiere networks like Showtime and Fox. Tell Haymon to send him an offer
people. Don't just bark.

Where in Neptune is Mike Coppinger?
Has he abandoned his Luis Ortiz storyline?
Or he's only interested when the agenda suits him.
He's the guy who reported Ortiz making $7 million in the Wilder 2 fight.
And people were supposed to believe that crap.
A fight not even as big as the non-PPV Thurman/Porter fight.
And these guys made $1 million each.Comment

You really think PBC would send offers to anyone? You giving them too much credit. Look who Ortiz fights when he isn't fighting Wilder.... ExactlyComment

Precisely the point. It's all smoke and mirrors with these PBC fighters and their fans.
They have huge networks like Showtime and Fox and these clowns are waiting for Hearn to do something.
Otherwise, stop mentioning the guy's name.Comment

Yep. Ortiz has painted himself into a corner and there is no easy way out. Ruiz won't fight him. Neither will most guys who Ortiz could actually beat and benefit from. So it's either fight bums on under cards, or wait for a better offer...which could take years. Years he no longer has. He never fought or beat the better heavyweights and his "boogie man" persona does not hold water. In reality, he should retire but we all know that won't happen. So itll be interestingComment
