Comments Thread For: Ellerbe: Josh Taylor's An Excellent Fighter; Probably 70 People At Tank's Fight Even Heard Of Him

Josh Taylor beat an overhyped, pedestrian and one-dimensional Jose Ramirez, a guy who only had a belt because there are a million of them around in today’s boxing. Now he seems set to go on a Tyson Fury-like year -long celebration living off this win - and yammer about being “undisputed” when in reality it’s not really all that big a deal.Comment

I can understand people saying GRJ is the most likely, but it sort of feels like pulling another 126 up, one fight after Leo, no danger of being accused of daring to be great, thats for sure. The names are at 135, and Taylor by virtue of being undisputed, seems like these days they're not even pretending to try and make the best fights.
I guess it would be a unification for Tank at 130, so thats something, still Tank would be a overwhelming favourite.Comment

Where have these boxing fans been hiding that they have not heard of Josh Taylor? Maybe under Ellerbe's Nostrile?Comment

ATLANTA - Gervonta Davis doesn't need Josh Taylor to do big business. Leonard Ellerbe realizes that blunt assessment won't satisfy devout boxing fans that would love to see Davis remain at 140 pounds to challenge the undefeated, undisputed junior welterweight champion in Davis' next fight. But Ellerbe, the CEO of Mayweather Promotions, Floyd Mayweather himself and others involved in Davis' career are more concerned with continuing to build Davis into a star that transcends boxing.

Josh Taylor vs anyone is not close to PPV, except for Davis. Taylor is second or third rate to Gervonta in all aspects. He's really a bum with bogus trinkets. Ellerbe is being too nice.Last edited by BoxingIsGreat; 06-30-2021, 02:51 AM.Comment

I honestly can't understand why people are calling for Tank to fight GRJ, what weight would the fight be at 130?
