Seems like he was afraid since he needed to vacate multiple times and take PEDs with GGG and Charlo, but whatever makes you sleep at night lol. Crushed Kovalev? Another washed fighter, but cong****! Saunders has no power, which is why Canelo sought him out. Tank can learn a lot from Canelo on how to avoid challenges and still finesse casual fans.
Can Tank Davis cherry pick a title at 147?

Yeah as already posted Jamal James does have A WBA Belt but I doubt Tank goes up to 147 at least not right now and if he does he will likely start off doing catchweights I think he will float around 135-140 for now. Regis Prograis is the fight to make at 140 for Tank, it is a dangerous fight for him but that is what fans want for him. Prograis is a good talker and will help promote that fight. If not Prograis then maybe 135 again vs Rolly, Pitbull Cruz Gonzalez, winner of Fortuna vs JoJo Diaz...I think those are the most realistic Options
I would like see him in with Josh Taylor, Haney, Lopez, Ryan Garcia but that doesn't seem likely at least not right nowComment

Leo isn't a legitimate 4 division champion. His title win at 130lbs was bogus and won against another fighter coming up in weight. Pedraza should have lost to Cherry but got a gift. The Pedraza win is still a very good win however as he isn't a pushover even if Cherry got the better of him.
They were both very good wins IMO, Pedraza was undefeated and it was a big step up for Tank at the time. Plus Pedraza went on to claim a title at 135 not long after.
Then Santa Cruz is a legitimate 4 weight world champion. Yeah he was featherweight moving up but he’s still an excellent fighter.
Tank has had a lot of substandard opposition, including Barrios the other night but Santa Cruz and Pedraza are both unquestionably quality fighters.
The Santa Cruz win however was terrible and barely rates as D+.Comment

Canelo had several fights at Middleweight before righting Golovkin including a fighter at Super Middleweight against Chavez Jr.Comment

Stop clinging to the PED excuse, Canelo beat GGG in the rematch while going through the most strict testing, due to GGGs and his fans incessant whining that delayed the rematch, and guess what, Canelo did better than in the first match, his stamina (which was his main flaw in the first match) was way better this time around, so what happun to the PEDs huh?

Kovalev was past prime yeah, but he was still, at worst, the 4th best LHW.
If beating up bigger dudes who are naturally two divisions above you is so easy, then why aren't more fighters doing it? because most of those fights end up like Garcia-Spence, that's why.
Saunders has no power? well how about Callum Smith? biggest guy in the division, that could be fighting at LHW tomorrow and he'd still be one of the biggest guys there, plenty of devastating KO´s, gigantic size and reach advantage over Canelo, how did that work out for him?
you can be sure your dear Charlo wouldn't have the balls to take a challenge like that, nobody else is taking the kind of challenges Canelo does, and succeeding, that's why he's the #1 P4P even if it irks haters like you

He won legitimate titles at each weight class. Not justifying the opponent but he’s still a legit 4 weight champ whether people like it or not.

Santa Cruz is a top level fighter, you can’t discount that just because he moved up four lb’s. It was a very good win.

Those were 155 catchweights (Caneloweight), he never fought at the full MW limit before GGG
The Chavez Jr catchweight fight was the only exception, but let's be honest, that was just a cash grab, against an easy opponent that still hold some value to his name, and it was the only way to make it, as Chavez Jr should be fighting at cruiser.Last edited by lopetego; 06-28-2021, 02:48 PM.Comment

His last fight with Barrios was a cherry pick for one of the 10 different WBA titles. So of course he can.Comment

You just gave two examples (Kovalev and Smith) that prove my point. Canelo cherry picks titles from guys who everyone knows are not the best in the division. Tank Davis can do the same thing, and he will get a lot of casual fans hyping him up too (and buying his fights). Loma/Lopez/Inoue are all challenging themselves more than Canelo has. P4P #1 is an imaginary ranking pushed by the media, so that ranking does not matter much to me.
