When I was referring to his 'state of mind' I was talking about his fear of facing Fury again.
A boxer shouldn't be going into the ring when he's scared ****less of his opponent. It's dangerous.

OH no don't try to clean it up. Fury is a known cheat, a racist, and a sexist but Wilder is hated because he highlighted problems in this country. He was hated way before glove gate
It's just like there wasn't a tear shedded for black communities when crack was a wildfire but today we need to show sympathy and provide Narcan for those addicted to opioids.
I don't ever recall Wilder being particular outspoken for social justice advocacy (if he was then that is news to me), perhaps it was downed out in all the other things he's said like thinking he was possessed and experiencing out of body moments when he KO'd Stiverne, wanting a body on his record or assaulting a woman who he thought was robbing him.
There are alot of fighters with checkered histories., It's all about how they craft and manage their image. Case in point, Dereck Chisora is one of my favorite fighters. He's done alot of unsavory things, he's lost alot of fights yet he's crafted an image and a product that keeps people paying to see him do his thing.

In boxing terms, you can sum it up like this ..
When Fury time came to fight Klitschko he went over to Germany and beat him.
When Wilders time came he ran. If Wilder had tried and failed I'd have more respect for him. That was his moment of glory the point he would have been the A side and got all the praise he lacks. Aj and Fury are just shots at redemption for him. He has all the advantages, home defences every time and still moans.

I can't see anything but a Fury win by KO/TKO, probably quicker than last time, followed by more claims of cheating and shenanigans by a minority of racist Wilder fans and more excuses from Wilder. Probably alien abduction because that's the only excuse that he hasn't used so far.
I notice that none of these interviews that Wilder has done have asked Wilder whether he has any current injury concerns, but then again before the last two fights he was asked the same thing and he claimed that he was at 100% before coming out with a long list of injuries afterwards.

Just watch his body language and his eyes. He has a lip compression when Fury's name is just mentioned, and when he starts saying that he owns his soul his face drops, you can literally see the fear in his eyes and he starts stuttering and stammering like Foghorn Leghorn on speed:

It takes over 40 seconds for him to recover from that slip up and put that fake smile back on his face. The man is terrified. If they can't get rid of that fear in training then it won't end well for him. A boxer should NOT go anywhere near a fight when he's THAT scared of an opponent. It's bloody dangerous.
