Originally posted by Ant1979 View PostSounds to me like Dirrell and whichever Charlo had his best interests at heart, just like Breland had.
Not much good to his daughter if he wound up like Gerald McClellan, I bet his family wish the trainer threw the towel in.
Like Dirrell noted, his legs had completely gone, obviously where the power comes from and so had his balance, so he couldn't even set his feet, also integral to generating power.
He was also constantly being pushed backwards and he was clearly uncomfortable with that too, there was no 'get out of jail card' he just got beat up by the better man on the night.
And if an armchair fan (albeit an avid one) can see this, it must have been screaming out to Fury, who was now very much on the front foot with little regard for what's coming back and of course Breland, who ultimately did the right thing.
That's not to say he's got no chance this time around but if he's still in denial it doesn't leave much room for honest evaluation and genuine improvement.
And this version of Fury seems to have the self discipline to keep his **** together between fights and still make solid progress.
In fact since watching Fury punch himself in the face a good 10 years ago, can't think of a more improved fighter and I'm not a diehard fanboy of his or hater of Wilder by any means.
To be honest, I'd watch Wilder fight every week, not for the sweet science, just for the entertainment value. Bit like watching an 80's action movie, you don't have to think about it, just sit back and enjoy.

Instead, what the media does ( including the boxingscene ) is quote Deontay Wilder's strong claims of corruption and scheming, because they know that's what triggers traffic.
Nobody cares about the truth, casual-fans and devils only want to be entertained by Deontay's misfortune and struggles, this is why I support Deontay's silence and boycott of old-media.
Grasping at straws here.
Fighters don’t need to die or get career ending brain damage to know when they have taken too much punishment. Dirrell should be proud of himself, he saved Wilder’s brain.

One thing though, if you have been watching boxing since Ali fought, that means you had been deployed at around 55-60 years old in 2006 when Calzaghe and Lacy fought? What age did you sign up?? God speed to you, never heard of a 60 year old being on overseas deployment as an NCO...
in any event. That fight with Kessler was definitely a cracking good sc****. I always caught up with Calzaghe and I remember at the time hoping that he would venture over stateside earlier than he did. Thankfully I had a years long stint with a subscription to Boxing News which thankfully kept me up on the boxing scene

Earlier on in his career, especially after the Chisora and Cunningham fights, I would've confidently argued that Fury was a KO waiting to happen. He always got tagged in fights (including by himself lol) and had major lapses - I dunno if he was just bored or improved since, but he uses his natural weapons alongside his awkward style beautifully when he wants to now. I do still think Joshua might be able to walk him down and break him down tho..
**** on re Wilder too. If he could just take his loss like, he'd be even more exciting to most fans now and actually make more money. He's nuts tho and is Jeff Lacy II now imo. Think he gets stopped inside 6 this time against Fury simply due to his mental weaknesses.

Wilder still has not mentally recovered from the beating he took from fury......still blames others instead of realising he is absolute garbage and has zero boxing technique

Great interview with Andre Dirrell. I felt the same way as Dirrell at the time. I believed his eardrum was ruptured and I believed Wilder was in bad shape, but I was still hoping he would find a way to turn the tide and knock Fury out. Now, after Wilder explained how weak he felt, after Wilder provided credible evidence of glove tampering, I feel very differently. You can guarantee the trilogy fight is going to be on a level playing field, or there will be no fight. I'm thinking this fight is going to be a Hagler-Hearns type of fight...
The referee WAS going to stop it, but Breland made his decision. Doesn't matter what Dirrell advised him to do, Breland was Wilder's employee and was warned to never throw in the towel. He did it anyway and was fired immediately.
The truth is hard for some people to handle. And human beings will ALWAYS be competitive in every aspect of life. Some will do whatever it takes to get an edge...

Powerful interview. You can either play the victim or you can rise to the challenge of being self-sufficient, knowing that it will be a constant fight to deal with snakes in the grass.

Well since you are a self proclaimed 'Expert' on reeeporting (and suk'n Wilder off) get busy with your
Investigative journalism and produce.
Remember the eye-witness accounts were captured on a TV screen, A towel saved Wilder from going face first into the canvas.

I fail to see what is wrong. I watched the whole video thinking something crazy was going to be said. It’s just Andre Dirrell saying he told Breland to throw in the towel because he was seeing blood come out of Wilder’s ear and he didn’t think that was normal. He said multiple fighters in the stands were begging Wilder’s corner to stop it due to the punishment he was taking.

I was laughed at and ridiculed for telling the boxingscene what pro Kronk gym Andre Dirrell just reveal to the world, but now this confession is being marginalized as it does lend credence to what team Wilder reported months ago to the bias media that only want to financially exploit this scandal and milk it for as long as possible -- vindicating Wilder's claims would be bad for business.
