Terence Crawford To Fight On October 23
    June 22, 2021

Terence Crawford (37-0, 28 KOs) will be coming back from an eleven-month layoff when he returns to the ring to defend his WBO 147-lb title on October 23 in the main event on ESPN.

Top Rank is still looking for the right opponent for Crawford. But they should have someone soon.

This will be the 33-year-old Crawford’s only fight in 2021, as he’s been sitting on the shelf waiting for his promoters at Top Rank to find him an opponent.

It’s too bad that Top Rank couldn’t find an opponent for Crawford earlier this year, but they’ve been trying to set up a big match for him against Manny Pacquiao, but the money wasn’t there for an overseas fight.

Top Rank boss Bob Arum recently listed three 140-pounders that he’s considering as options for Crawford. The three guys Arum mentioned are as follows: Jose Zepeda, Regis Prograis, and Jose Ramirez.

Unless Arum can set up a fight between Crawford and one of the PBC welterweights like Keith Thurman, Danny Garcia, or Shawn Porter, he’ll likely wind up fighting Zepeda or Ramirez.

Curious though if he does win the next two will he go for undisputed (if PAC is not elevated back to full champ And Ugas is still champ.)
At face value, if what he's saying about weight is true I suppose it'd come down to a) just how hard he's killing himself to make 147 and b) what kind of money fight is presenting itself at 154/who are the titleholders there

The assumption when Crawford has been continuously fighting trash at 147 while Spence goes around collecting the belts and fighting top 10 fighters is that Spence is not the one avoiding tough fights.

The liklihood is that neither of them has been particularly pushing for it, but when Spence has Pacquaio lined up next -- a massive fight, a massive payday against yet another top 10 WW and could potentially ened up as a unification fight -- and Arum has a list of junior welterweights lined up as potential opponents, it's a bad look for Crawford.

Spence has established himself as the man in the welterweight division. Crawford was king of 140lbs, outgrew the division but just seems to not have the balls to take on anyone genuinely dangerous in the WW division. He took that strap from Horn and that seems to have been enough for him.

For the Spence vs Crawford fight to happen, one of them needs to swallow their pride and make some concessions to make it happen. The reality is that it probably should be Bud doing that. But somehow he's clinging to this fantasy that he deserves a 50% cut.

That ship sailed with the Pacquiao fight! If Spence loses to Pacquiao, no one will want to see Spence vs. Crawford! If Spence wins, Crawford will not get more than 40%! If I were Arum, I would try to get Crawford vs. Ugas in a unification fight ASAP, however Bob seems content with Zepeda or Ramirez next. He mentions Prograis, but Prograis said he does not want to go to 147 until he wins a title at 140 again, plus he's recently talked to Robert Garcia about fighting Mikey!

Was Ali delusional to get 5050 vs Foreman? Crawford is clearly the best but Haymon has all the belts under control because he owns the division and has manipulated it for spence to get most of the belts. everybody knows Crawford and Arum did everything they could to get spence but haymon and spence ducked it. just like stevenson ducked Kovalev, wilder ducked AJ, davis ducked loma and lopez. It's always the pbc pretenders who do the ducking and dodging. and ****** fools like you who refuse to see it.
