Why's Joe Joyce scared of Hrgovic?

He has a chance to become IBF mandatory with a body that will force mandatory.

What is he scared of since boxingscene told me he will beat anyone not named Fury?

This guy is planning to fight a Takam that won't move the needle when he could easily beat Hrgovic and get a mandatory shot next year.

I don't even see him beating Takam unless they rob Takam...I smell a close fight.

    I agree with every word.

Takam is a step down, why not fight Hrgovic who needs a fight?

Joyce is #2 WBO. Frank Warren has guided his fighters that route. He's #9 IBF. Charles Martin is somehow #1 and Usyk is #2 IBF. He was going to fight Usyk until the Joshua-Fury fight fell through.
Beating Hrgovic doesn't make him money or guarantee a title shot. And Joyce is just coming off a win over similarly touted undefeated heavyweight. Insinuation of ducking a fight that hasn't even been discussed is absurd.

No one will fight Hgrovic unless they haven’t been paying attention.

        He beats everyone except Fury.

Nobody will fight Hrgovic unless they will have to because their manager will say so.

I used to think that Hrgovic was some overrated Euro guy, but the truth is the guy is avoided fighter.

              There's nothing special about Hrgovic.

Most boxers and/or their promoters have preferences for certain boxing organization(s). The WBC is the most prestigious belt and the IBO is the least. WBA and WBO come next to the WBC. IBF is somewhat better than IBO. It doesn't have a lot of "good names" in its top ranks.

Frank has chosen his fighters to go different routes and has planned their careers in that way. Dubois probably goes the WBA route and Joyce the WBO. Neither's got a shot at WBC currently so that is out of the question. Besides, Fury is the WBC champ and if there is no unification, they would like their fighters to have two opportunities to go at Joshua. IBF ranks Joyce much lower than WBO. Therefore, WBO seems the obvious choice.

Maybe not, but top 10 guys are not in rush to fight him.

Has Joyce turned down an eliminator vs Hrgovic?
