Did anyone on here give a logical explanation for Fury's floppy gloves?

Here's the problem with your explanation. And I know you made it without actually watching the clip.

If what you're saying is true - that it's just a flicking jab - after Fury flicks, he palm strikes Wilder. Not punches. Straight palm to side of the face.

Now of course, palm strikes are illegal. But the ref was on the wrong side.

The Ali jab always connected with the knuckle to face despite being a flick. He never palm struck anyone.

But if he didn't actually flick, and his fist was lower in the glove, his fist would have connected square on Deontay's face.



Now I'll ask again.

I really don't understand what people are going on about. When you slow it right down it may have a baggy effect to it, as it looks like the glove had come loose and slipped down slightly. That's about the end of it as far as I can tell.

I actually saw a video breaking down the type of gloves Fury used and they had footage of a fight where Canelo used the same gloves and it had the same floppy action. It's because the padding in that particular glove moves around a lot which is good for punchers but also bad for the hands long term.

It's the same model glove that Floyd wouldn't let Marcos wear and I think Wilder used to use them early in his career which may have contributed to his hand problems. I think it's the Everlast MX something?

And Fury's hand would get smashed to pieces. Gloves aren't worn to protect their opponent's face, they and hand wraps are worn to protect their HANDS.

I'm pretty sure we've gone over this before. Unless he added gypsum to his hand wraps he won't have done a thing with his gloves.

My honest answer about this controversy. Unfortunately when we moved West permanently I left my boxing equipment in the basement. Until I get some gloves and try to see how a floppy glove could happen I have not said anything about this controversy.

So if you're saying it's perfectly acceptable to palm strike on a hook (it isn't), then it's obvious why Wilder was thrown off balance with a busted ear drum.

The question now is whether Fury can do the same damage without using palm strikes. Because if he doesn't do the palm strike in the third fight and Wilder isn't thrown off, it adds fuel to the fire.
