canelo and charlo can fight. it's just a matter of charlo not bringing enough to the table for canelo's people to accept the risk of their cash cow taking an L to a fighter who isn't in house.

make no mistake, canelo probably knocks jermall charlo and his brother out on the same night, but he is a good fighter in his prime and he can punch and canelo is moved financially and unless you bring extra money to the table they will not be taking extra risk with a dude outside of the stable. that's just life.
agreed…like u said - it is what it is.

I disagree on muraya and GGG having other options. what other big names are left at 160? They have to fight charlo if they want to unify. Andrade has the WBO, but we both know Charlo surpasses.
Well, GGG and Murata have each other. Who knows how many fights GGG even has left at this point. It may be - tune up, Murata, Canelo, then he's done. He could also finish at 168. Murata is a draw himself in Japan, he doesn't need Charlo, and if he and GGG fight in December, it would likely be late 2022 before Murata-Charlo is even a possibility.

I don't think casuals really care about belts tbh. They care about the sh.it talking, grudge matches, buzz etc.

No free agent fighter put their career in the hands of a rival promoter.
True but in the end Charlo was being offered a very winnable fight followed by a real fight and a rematch. When you look closely at the details it was a very lucrative deal but yes, you are correct, Hearn was certainly looking for 3 fight deal.
