Just thinking:do you think teofimo really tested positive for covid??

Yes.
This is an insane payday for the "easiest" fight Lopez has had in a while.
Gotta apply Occam's Razor here: the solution with the fewest assumptions is the right one.
The man caught COVID.
It's also true that he's a ****ing moron for not getting his vaccine yet.

dunno. but i do find it odd they wouldnt try and re-test Lopez considering how shambolic & unreliable these tests are what with false positives, people testing positive in one nostril and negative in the other. inanimate objects are testing positive. an orange tested positive ffs
So they tested him once and called the whole thing off? yeah not buying that.Comment

Many of you are naive. Kambosos would’ve been making headlines and interviews about the situation.
Top Rank probably stipend Lopez to test positive so that their guy didn’t shet over ESPN’s other guy, Inoue. Inoue could have the worst numbers vs Charlo or Munguia as well as going against Lopez. With piracy at the highest lately and Triller acknowledging it, it was best to ditch Juneteenth. For Top Rank to stipend Lopez is nothing. They would inform Kambosos as well that waiting it out for a better PPV benefits everyone.
Canelo said he tested positive after Smith yet still fought Yildirim. It wasn’t disclosed. Vergil Ortiz’s last fight he also tested positive but it wasn’t disclosed.
a lot of fans think PPV is popping but it isn’t. Promoters don’t want to admit of the piracy and numbers lost.
Only DAZN is leading the packComment

Not exactly. Sure you can still get COVID but you are far less likely to become infected and your ability to fight it off if you do somehow contract it is better.Comment

Yeah I'm not either. It seems very fishy.

I think it's a scheduling issue. They have a PPV on a platform that's fresh outta thebgate and competing with 4 other boxing events. It's best to fake anything and reschedule. It's likely a flop anyway but with so many competing platforms that aren't PPV it's dead in the water if they tried it on the original date.Just speculating: Leonard Ellerbe explained recently that Triller lowered the price to Teo vs Kambosos tickets substantially. That is a sign that the tickets were not selling well for the event. Teofimo's dad said many times that the Teo vs Kambo event would sell 2 million PPVs. Do you think this whole Teo testing positive is a possible excuse to postpone the vent for more ticket sales because they have not reached expectations on the originally-scheduled fight week?
What do you think?
I am not saying Teo testing positive isn't true, just speculating, it all seems like a big coincidence to me that's all.Comment

I agree with your post but I find it just as absurd that Teo hasn't been vaccinated yet. I think that's why so many people are questioning the positive result. That would be really irresponsible. The venue changed and everything, it’s no longer the Marlins stadium. They don’t even have a venue right now.
Just sit back and really think about how ****** that tactic would be, I will break it down:
If they had issues selling tickets for Marlins stadium, which is a great venue, location and it is always attractive for fights to be in major sports stadiums, how is moving the fight going to help sell more?
How many people who bought the tickets are from FL? Probably a good amount you would think right? Okay if they can’t secure a venue in FL, how many Floridians would go out of state for this fight?
Let me continue. If there was really an issue selling tickets for a fight for June 19th, how would that issue be resolved by delaying it by a month and a half? Like is Lopez and Kambosos popularity really just going to grow substantially enough to make a difference in ticket sales a month and a half? If you already forgot what I mentioned earlier: they don’t even have a new venue yet.
Lying about having covid in order to “sell more tickets” is a logistical nightmare for the fight. That is absurd. If they needed more exposure for the fight then they needed to do a couple more press conferences and tell the fighters to sell the fight on stage. Not lie about having covid so that Lopez can stay in his bed recovering and not being able to do interviews, press conferences, or any trash talking.
If the fight was delayed by 3-6 months, you’d have a good point. But a month and some change? And they lost the venue due to the Marlins playing home games during the dates they want to reschedule? Zero sense.Comment

Im not from the US so dont know how much buzz the fight had, but I felt that there was zero interest on the internet for that fight.
I get why they moved it from the Mayweather weekend, but then moving it on a weekend with a lot of competition was an absurd decision.
Only die hard teo fans would think about purchasing a 60 dollar stream when they can just watch boxing on espn and showtime.
Seems to me like they were crunching their numbers and came to the conclusion that they would tank badly.
equally su****ious is that they were able to directly mention the new date.
he tested positive in the morning and they were instantly ready to lock in another date?Comment
