Devin Haney Now a Free Agent, What Should He Do?

He should become a promotional free agent. If Lopez truly wants that smoke with Devin, then Haney should sign a one fight deal with Top Rank with no strings attached but knowing that old shark Bob Arum; He is going to want some future options on Haney's next few fights if he wins.Comment

Honestly don't know...maybe stay with Hearn! Arum already made it clear that Teofimo vs Haney is not happening next and how he already has other plans for Teofimo
PBC would be good if he can get on FOX for more Commercial Exposure! Good clean cut Kid who is extremely marketable outside of the ring. Maybe finally take that Fortuna Fight or Fight Rolly
Top Rank...Hell No! His style would NOT be a good Fit with Top Rank and on ESPN as we just seen with Shakur on SaturdayLast edited by sicko; 06-15-2021, 12:37 PM.Comment

I agree. I wouldn't sign a long term deal with Top Rank either. It would be just on a fight by fight basis. Haney needs to keep all of his interests and options open. Next he should fight Tank Davis after Teofimo Lopez. I would say Ryan Garcia but he ain't shit! He doesn't have the balls to challenge Devin Haney.

No don't resign with Matchroom. Haney needs to go where the good fighters are around his weight class are fighting.
Now that Haney is a free agent, should he re-up with Matchroom or sign with TR and get the Lopez fight? If he goes to TR, he would also have a better chance of getting the Lomachenko fight and even Ramirez/Taylor if he plans to move to 140 soon.
But Matchroom pays him great and I believe he was making 3M or close to it against Linares.
What would you do if you were Haney?

I agree. Good post!
But how will he get the Lopez fight then if he isn't with TR? When Haney's father asked Arum about Lomachenko, Arum told him he signed with the wrong promoter.
Matchroom will certainly pay him the best but TR has the types of opponents that Haney is probably looking for.
Can't go wrong either way I guess. Just depends on what he is looking for.

It doesn't matter. Lomachenko was a protected fighter just as Canelo and we all know why now don't we?

I sincerely hope so. That is the fight that boxing fans must see.
I don't think it is that easy to match guys like this from different promoters. And with TR now making that deal with Sky and DAZN being in the UK as well? Yeah, good luck making that fight.
Can Haney possibly just sign a one off deal with TR to get that fight and then go back to Matchroom?

not to mention he faced a tougher opponent in Lopez.
