He will slug with Davis and get easily ko’d just like old slow pillow-fisted LSC. Nobody is picking cherry-pick Barrios to win, just like NOBODY picked Leo to win. Both clearly mismatches to make Davis appear to b a ppv star.
Like I said, it is probably to prepare him for a bigger fighter like Teofimo, who has similar height advantages. But I may be assuming too much there.

Barrios has a similar style to Corrales to me. Just because he isn’t p4p top 5 doesn’t take away from the danger involved with fighting a much bigger opponent with knockout power.

Whether you have some weird obsession to hate Gervonta for whatever trivial reason is irrelevant to that.

I’m not a fan of his but at least he is actually doing something instead of many of these other boxers who sit on their ass but chat s.hit like Crawford, Ryan, and now what looks apparent to be Teofimo.

I agree with this. If he ever goes to Welterweight he would be at a significant reach/height disadvantage, on the upside he would be a TANK very much so.

Do you think he can make 130 still or has he outgrown the division?

Yes with the right amount amount of drive, dedication and discipline he could still make 130 but it is all left up to him though. With clean living anything is possible. However, he has to learn to treat his body like a professional athlete by abstaining from strong drink, unhealthy foods and especially the fast, loose and easy women. Being oversexed would cause an athlete to age faster than anything. It would take away his strength, legs and make him round.

Barrios has average power Bro and below average everything else. Who of note has he ko’d besides cans?? 4-1 odds against the 10th ranked jww in the world with “supposedly” dangerous power? Cmon Bro - NOBODY is picking Barrios…and that supposed to be risky and dangerous?? Gamboa, past it pillow-fisted Lsc, and now b-level Barrios…u dont call that cherry-pickn at this stage in his career? Even alot of boxing media is saying Davis needs to pick up the level of competition by now. Risk that 0 for once and fight the top fighters!! He already rich - now dare to b great like Teo!

On fight night, I expect Barrios to be between 155 and 165 and Davis 150-155. The 10 pound difference will still be there on fight night. I also expect the 130 belt to be vacated soon. He'll fight at 135 and 140, whichever makes sense, money wise. His base will be 135. I'd say his best performance ceiling is welter. These 140 guys are all welters and superwelters anyway.

What Arum doesn't know is Davis is there solely to kick Taylor's ass. They have a score to settle. I said this since last year. Everything is going according to plan. The idea behind the 140 regular belt is to force Taylor if he tries to run. But now with Prograis asking for the smoke first (they don't like each other), he might take that fight first, if he beats Barrios.

            Keep watching.

I don’t rate Barrios highly (he is #7 at 140 by ring mag though) but at a certain point, size does matter. Who was josesito lopez or Andy Ruiz before they did what they did?

but I do agree, Davis does need to pick up the level of competition. He’s doing a bit of this and that but he can do with a notable name with actual boxing ability now. Gamboa doesn’t count for me but as I said, maybe he will use Barrios as a measuring stick for a fight with Teofimo.

Davis has the skills and power…just needs to challenge himself against the best. May take a “L” in a round robin type with Loma/Haney/Teo….but will gain respect and popularity with the casuals in the process. Will b curious to see if he steps it in next fight after 3 mismatches in a row.

You play your part well! Akhmedov is right there with MJ, Madrimov, and "Bek" the Bully! He lost a close decision to Barrios, and would've won if not for the 2 knockdowns! Why do you think he's already in another elimination fight?
so much for the “fast-tracked” Bek” the bully” ! Ko’d with one punch by old journeyman Rosado! Yup - the “Bully” and Akbar definitely belong together in the over-hyped bc of amateur background bs!
