It's amazing to me that you have to point this out to grown adults. What a terrible thread this has degenerated into.

I'm pulling for Wilder but I also like Fury, who I think will win. Wilder damaged his image with his comments after the Fury fight but all that means is he was being immature. To be honest Fury says a lot of outrageous things but that doesn't mean he isn't a very good fighter. Fairness and respect are the order of the day not criticism.

I don’t see the issue with what Spence said. It’s literally no different than people from NY cheering for the Yankees solely because they’re from NY and no other reason. When your hometown team blows balls, you still root for them.

When Spence fights anywhere in TX, who do you think the crowd roots for?

Admits to having a trainer who has no idea how hands are to be properly wrapped. I do not support people who are this ****** and have zero integrity.
Problem is your personal support for or against a fighter doesn't really matter as it doesn't effect the outcome of the fight. What you should be looking forward to is your guy (Fury) easily defeating wilder in the trilogy. Those of us who like Wilder are pulling for him to stage an upset. Either way, the personal integrity of the fighters won't decide the fight.

Did you actually miss the context within Spence’s thoughts?
British guys toot for their guys and thousand travel to the US to support their guy. Spence used that context to explain why Americans should support one another against across the pond rivals. It has nothing to do with politics or race or any negativity. And you show up in your self righteous bravado and turn this thread into something else. It’s a reflection of you as a person

Would Spence ever say the same thing about supporting Crawford or are we only allowed to root for certain types of Americans who bend the knee to Al Haymon?

One man's opinion on this matter doesn't change the anti-American sentiment of hundreds of spoiled, entitled athletes. Nice try, but you haven't got the intellectual horsepower to be in this conversation with me. Now hurry up with my sandwich!

Nationalism is really only a very recent concept in human history. It has manifested in a lot of terrible actions for sure, but humans haven't really needed nationalism to do terrible things to each other. Truthfully, though, the average person has more in common with people who look like them, share beliefs or live in their neighborhood or community(which has been marginalized by nationalism and globalization). If Spence said he roots for black fighters, people on here and other places would be quick to call him "racist", when it's a pretty normal thing to support people who look like you. Canelo states **** like this all the time and people are mostly fine with it. I've never seen a youtube video involved a Mexican fighter where there were absolutely no comments bigging up Mexico. Never seen a post about a Latino fighter from random country, where people weren't espousing the greatness of hispanic fighters. Be consistent guys. If it's okay for one, it should be okay for the other. If it isn't okay, then rally against all of them. It's also okay to like fighters who don't look like you or share anything much in common with you. It's okay to like different styles of fighters as well. I believe so at least.
