So Floyd was only p4p king from 2005 till he retired in 2007...funny...I assumed it was longer than that....
Yeah Hopkins was still #1 in 2004, but Floyd was on the list about a decade, I believe.

Hence the reason Floyd was ranked #1 for so long....same with Roy Jones.....although they didn't face the BEST COMPETITION OUT THERE....they're skills were undeniably the best, solidifying their p4p#1 status...no doubt that Floyd will soon regain his #1 status....but if he will have earned it via fighting the best....or based on the skillset we know he has?

Highly disagree....if Floyd was the number 1 name in boxing...why is it everytime he gets interviewed....Manny Pacquiao's name is brought up (followed by the definition of a "stank face" by Floyd)....but when Pacquiao is interviewed or an article is written....Marquez's name is the one that is thrown at him...followed by Floyd's in a close 2nd.
If Floyd was truly the #1 name in boxing....he could sell out any venue, get at least 500K PPV buys a fight, wouldn't need to do all this promoting in the UK for a fight with a mexican.....the Hatton and DLH fights really got to Floyd and his mindset that he is the "cash-cow" of boxing.

Chump change and my respect.....please....without the respect of us fans....excluding his huggers....and our "chump change"....Floyd wouldn't have **** except his wack ass "Philthy Rich Records" who can't produce ****...his mink coats that he wears in the ****** Las Vegas heat....and he would have to sell all his posessions just to Lease all the **** he sold to keep up his image that he is still a "big boy".

If Floyd was such a huge draw,

he wouldn't have to fight a Mexican,

on the weekend of Mexicos Independence Day.

On the list for a decade? Sorry Jim....Floyd was on the p4p LIST for maybe 4 yrs TOPS...before becoming p4p #1 in 2005....so lets do the math shall we....he destroyed Gatti in 2005...that was the fight that launched him into the #1 slot....4 yrs prior he fought Chico and JLC.....in those fights "Pretty Boy" graduated from hot prospect to certified p4p contender....

2001 to 2007 does not equal a decade buddy....

If anyone was on that list for a decade...it would be B-Hop or Roy Jones.....

If Floyd is not the biggest name in boxing, then do me a favor. We all consider ourselves boxing fans right. If you had to make a safe bet as to who is mentioned inthe most threads here, who would you bet on? OK, Now apologize to Mayweather when ever youre ready?

The biggest name in boxing never had to create a mini series to hype his fight,

nor did the biggest name in boxing have to use movie theaters for people to see his fight because they were already comfortable paying more to watch it in their own home,

nor did the biggest name in boxing ever have to downgrade any other fighters abilities or ridicule them in a childlike manner to drum up interest,

nor did the biggest name in boxing have to "retire", so people would flock to see him when he came back.

Very few people have been the biggest name in the sport,

              Floyd isn't one of them.
The biggest idiot **** talker that makes no sense, but
not close to being the biggest name in the sport.

i respect mayweather he is very smart
The purse for Mosley vs Margarito was 3.4 mili....2 mili went to "Bricks do hit back" and 1.4 went to Sugar.....

I'm pretty sure the fighters I mentioned would've gladly taken $500-$750K to get their asses handed to them while Money takes home $2.70 mili.....wouldn't have needed to spend so much on promotion, marketing, PPV licensing and fees, the private jets to fly Money around in to show up in the UK....just straight up HBO commercials before and after Entourage would've been just fine. Then go after the bigger fish with a win against a WW contender under his belt....

                    I already did,

Oscar De La Hoya is the biggest name in boxing, which is precisely why Floyd wanted to fight him,

to piggyback off of the Gold medal winners fame.

Can't become a name with just a bronze.

                    "Bronze Boy Promotions",

just doesn't have that ring to it.
