Good for him, he had a decent career. He look very shot on his last fight or he was already mentally retired.

              Goodbye champ

You were always a warrior, explosive and entertaining

It sucks that you were not big enough for the era of superheavyweights

and that you had to spend your prime under the shadow of two of the greatest hws ever, who also dwarfed you in size, the Klitschkos

without the Kbros around, you could have ruled the division

Heck, a prime Povetkin could probably rule the current, lackluster hw division

There's a reason Wilder went out of his way to duck a past prime version of you

The fact that he flattened Whyte will always make him one of my favs.

                  Happy retirement champ.

With the benefits of hindsight, yes, absolutely. Looked truly terrible in his final fight. To be honest, it's been a visible decline for him for a while now. In the fights against Price and Hunter, he had odd moments of vulnerability, but still had 'it'. In the first fight against Whyte he looked there for the taking and in the second he had absolutely nothing. He really should not have been in that ring for the second fight.

Smart move. No need to be a stepping stone for the new guys. Thanks for everything, warrior.
