Is Bob crispy Arum losing the plot?

He has always been a dirty little turd but in the last few years he seems to be out of control. I think his age is now working against him, his old skool tricky sneaky behaviour isn’t suited to this modern age of the internet and transparency.

We all see how badly he is treating Bud Crawford. We can point out how boring Bud may be outside of the ring but that’s why he has himself a PROMOTER. Yet because Bud isn’t making him the money he would like without bothering to promote him he is turning on him.

He is threatening to punish Teo Lopez for fighting on Triller. He also threatened other networks to not bid on Teo fight so he could pay him as little as possible and didn’t like it when rivals didn’t want to play his game.

Everybody knows the dirty tricks he has played regarding undisputed at Heavyweight. He thinks he can talk his way out of blame and Eddie Hearn in to it but he can’t. The ****** AJ haters will attack Joshua and Hearn but that’s what they do but even they can see the dirty little game Arum is trying but failing to play.

But Bob plays it all out in words, makes his statements, has his interviews but he contradicts himself, he lies and he doesn’t seem to of noticed that in this day and age everything he is saying can be brought back, can be cross referenced and double checked and he has contradicted himself repeatedly.

Can’t speak for Top Rank but I think Bob is on borrowed time here. He is making a mess of his dirty antics and ppl are now able to check up on his lies now, there is nowhere to hide.

is it time for Bob to go?

I've no idea why he's still going. You could understand it if he wanted to stick around because he had the chance to do some great things, but he's almost entirely negative about, well, everything. And doesn't seem to care about the crap he spouts.

    What's in this for him?

He just doesn’t like to think others are smarter than him, Team Teo Lopez played him. He would cry about Haymon not wanting Crawford to beat Spence but if he was in that same position then he wouldn’t want anyone near his own fighter, he can allow Haney v Lopez for a lot of money and undisputed fight but he would claim no one wants to see Haney etc…

We really need those old school politics to die out, we want the new school boxing guys, who aren’t too keen about the politics of the sport, network isn’t stopping fights etc no other side of the road, no rematch clauses that stops fights etc

That’s what is striking me, he really doesn’t seem to care about what he says. I’m sure he has always known that his words can be dug back up and dissected to throw light on his lies but it took an ounce of effort, now it’s at the click of a button. I wonder if he realises how easy it is to cross reference his bollocks and lies or if he really just doesn’t give a crap and is comfortable saying any old nonsense.

I’ve always said Spence clearly doesn’t want the Crawford fight but I’ve always wanted team Crawford under Arum to force them in to a corner but they just haven’t.

personally I think promoter wars have over taken the sport. It’s all about who holds the best cards, who owns the stars, champions and ppv sellers. That’s why we getting so much false marination, so many in-house fights and rematch clauses. It’s all safety nets so promoters can protect their assets, it stinks of a lack of bravery and the fact it is actually a sport seems lost on these promoters

His issues with Teo were long before the purse bid. He’s trying to get his money from Julie Lederman back.

That story has passed me by. I will have to look in to that but he seems to have a chip on his shoulder referring his own fighters for one reason or another.

Of course I still don't think Team Spence wanted the Crawford fight, but that is beside the point. Arum pointing that out and then turning around and doing the exact same thing when his boxers are in Spence position. Am tired of these sort of promoters.

EffPandas knows more about it than I do. We were discussing it earlier today while going over our podcast outline for next week. Sounds like it's been as far back as the Nakatani fight even.
