But why do people still downplay Shane Mosleys involvement with BALCO and his blatant use of the Performance Enhancing Drugs they distributed. IMO Margarito was cheating long befor he was caught in the Mosley fight BUT there is no physical evidence to support such claims....but in Mosleys case all of the evidence is irrefutable yet people still put his name in the mix of all of these potential MEGA FIGHTS....

Jeff Novitzky, a lead investigator on the BALCO case, reported that documents seized from the lab show that Mosley received "the clear" and "the cream", both designer steroids. Mosley reportedly began his doping regimen prior to his 2003 bout with Oscar De La Hoya, a match that he won due in part to his strong performance in the later rounds of the fight. Victor Conte, the founder of BALCO, has since accused Mosley of knowingly taking performance enhancing drugs. He told the Los Angeles Times that Shane Mosley knew "exactly and precisely what he was doing" when he utilized BALCO's services. Mosley maintains that he believed the products he was using from BALCO were legal vitamins......................... "Legal Vitamins"....how on earth can you mistake a CREAM that you rub in for a vitamin you swallow?

In May 2008, Mosley's former trainer, Derryl Hudson, supported Conte's allegations against Mosley. In a declaration that was used in Conte's motion to have the lawsuit dismissed, Hudson wrote, "I know that Mr. Mosley was aware that the performance-enhancing drugs provided to him by Mr. Conte were banned drugs because I discussed that fact with Mr. Mosley both during and after our visit to BALCO,"

Mosley himself has ADMITTED to taking the drugs...errrr..VITAMINS so with all of this documented evidence why does Mosley continue to get praised by boxing fans and member of the media?
well said brother... just like mayweather said it on espn exposed both margo and mosley... mosley is lucky by not gettin a suspension...
and the cotto fans wont forgive margo, and mosley is okay?!?...
both clearly cheated... like u said mosley aint ******... he KNEW wat he took.

Mosley took his performance boosters and is a cheater. Whatever effect they had on him is wrong, actually i think he threw in a worse performance in the rematch with de la hoya when he was on them than he did in the first fight. But there is no excusing it, he cheated and was caught. But what that other scumbag did (margacheato) is totally on another level to mosley. Loading your gloves with plaster is criminal. He should be banned for life. He could easily have permanently injured or maimed his opponent. He has no respect for the sport or his opponents and nobody should give him a payday. Endofstory.

Loading your gloves is a lot worse than taking some steroid or whatever it was.

          The answer is simple.

The use of Steriods is a training aid and will result in higher muscle mass meaning that the fighter will have to campain at a higher weight, it will not effect his P4P punch power.

The use of loaded gloves is a cowardly act designed to seriously injure your opponent and massively increases your P4P punch power since you gain power (due to impact against the Plaster is gives less give) without having to campain at higher weights.

The second factor is thus: Boxers are not trained chemists, if a Doctor or scientists tells a boxer that substance x is not banned and fine to use, he is not going to have the knowledge to say hand on a minute thats sodiumpenasulphate bianthetamine thats banned i'm not going to use it.

However any boxer with a braincell is going to know that using plaster paris in your strapping is cheating, no ifs, no buts, no maybe's there is a Galaxy of difference.

Didnt say anything about bending rules I'm just explaining the difference. Both were wrong but the severity is different. What Tony tried to do could have ended careers.

Befor the Grand Jury he admitted he KNEW what he was taking, and that THEY (Balco, his team and trainers) told him to say it was flaxseed oil....
