Because Tank has a built in fan base and the guy is clearly a draw and a great talent.

I just wish he would stop hanging out with that loser Broner before the humantrashness rubs off on Tank and he goes down the same path.

One other thing: I prefer PPV over a subscription model like DAZN. Because I dont want to subscribe to something monthly and be 'attached' to it without even watching anything on it for a whole month.

With a PPV, we can get together and buy the PPV, and many of us watch it together on the same TV screen.
Nailed it, both of you. My main problem
with dazin is because it removes boxing from the people. The best thing that can happen to boxing is more exposure on free tv and basic cable/established sports station apps. Dazin is a good idea for the boxing fan but it DOES NOT grow the sport at all.

When you talk about attracting the new fans or the casual viewer, who out of those is paying 70 bucks to watch a name bash a nobody?

PBC was originally predicated on the idea that it would not do PPVs precisely for the reasons you cite, yet have begun to do a sequence of weak-ass match-ups as PPVs. And here we have Showtime with a totally uncompelling matchup at a whopping great price.

We are already at a point in time when ******ing services with subscription fees is becoming something like the norm across the whole spectrum of entertainment and that is only going to become more normal with time.

You do raise a valid point that all of these promotional outfits need to be thinking about how they build new names in the sport and entice general sports fans to become interested in these fighters. Social media is one method. I'm surprised fighters don't try and get themselves on non-sports shows more often, just to get themselves well known.

One of the ways Joshua got so well known in the UK -- alongside his boxing exploits -- was by appearing on shows like Top Gear and Graham Norton. That's how you reach the casual.
That last paragraph, that’s what’s missing. That is how Leonard, Tyson, Ali, Holyfield, etc etc got so big because of real promotion. Remember the commercials with Leonard? 7up I believe. Remember Mike Tyson’s punch out? Remember Ali and d-con roach killer? I could go on and on.

The fight is a freak show, it's not really compelling. Even if lightning hits the outhouse, and Berrios KOs Tank, it probably isnt KO of the year, Tank isn't a real Jr welter. I'll shop for next time, this one has a prefab look to it.

Lol that man is deep set in your head you don’t even need a trigger to get your anti Hearn hard on any more you just can’t wait to blurt something out.

The man has damaged you. It’s like he bit you and now you have Hearn rabies. We all know you a bit of a racist, your issue isn’t his colour is it?

It lets me relive my childhood (when I used to watch boxing on Wide World of Sports). Otherwise, everything I watch is either live ******ed or downloaded. And I'm old.
I don’t have cable either, it’s all apps. My showtime is an app, my hbo is an app, ESPN/ESPN+ is an app, even what used to be called “basic cable” is an app for me. The problem is dayzin is an app that literally has NOTHING else but Canelo....and domestic level European fights. Those low level fights appeal to the boxing fans but the average sports fan isn’t getting dayzin because it doesn’t offer much. If it had nfl, nba, nascar, formula 1, tennis, Olympics, college basketball/football or at least of it were to have held on to Bellator then it would have had something to offer. I’m sorry but it takes more than just Eddie Hearn fans and British “empire” driven nationalism for me to buy into it and certainly the average American doesn’t give a damn about British nationalism and Eddie Hearn worship
