    Rematch clause not needed.

Has there been any champion that refused or didn't want a rematch clause because they were so confident they wouldn't lose?

Any champ fighting a mandatory. Mandatories don't get rematch clauses.

      Besides Loma?

Zerafa refused a rematch clause for Horn.

Crawford refused a rematch clause for Horn.

Manny had a rematch clause for Horn, but didn't call it in (that counts).

Fairly certain Floyd refused a rematch clause for Cotto.

      Happens a lot.

He's just plain scared of Horn...

This is obviously directed at Anthony Joshua. Is this definitely the sticking point or is this just being run hard on the forum for saltiness purposes?

If this is the real reason then the obligation for a mandatory low split is surely thrown out of the window as it would be a change to standard mandatory contract types and I wouldn’t blame Usyk if he started throwing his own demands in there, especially a better split of the money.

If you were the champion and the A side, what would you do? Every top fighter thinks they will win. It's the manager's job to protect their interests.

I don't see it as that big a deal. If you're a challenger and don't want a rematch then work your way to mandatory and turn down the extra money.

It's challengers that sell off the rematch clause, not champions.

That is interesting Manny didn't want to fight Horn again.

All I know of are the ones that do require rematch clauses like all of Eddie’s fighters.
