    How good is Usyk?

I’m not impressed with anything the guy has done thus far. In the cruiserweight division (which is the weakest division) - he was dropped by Glowacki who just got blasted out by a one-dimensional pedestrian boxer in Okolie. And I scored his fight against Breidis as a draw at worst.

At HW, he’s yet to do anything and he’s basically waiting to be slaughtered. I hope you lot keep the hype up, so when Josh sleeps him - you’ll give him his due as the best of this era since the other two are ducking him.

Well you're undercooking his Cruiserweight career, but at Heavyweight his best is that he's beaten a good gatekeeper.

I don't think he's too small to be a good heavyweight. 6'3" and probably about 225 is plenty.

Okolie is on pace to do what Usyk did at cruiserweight (if he can avoid Dorticos). Would that also make Okolie a world beater? Usyk’s resume is also littered with loads of South Africans and we all know South Africa isn’t known for good big boxers.

I just don’t see anything special in the guy apart from his workrate. And he’s open to get hit with ease all the time.

He's a very skilled fighter. If only he has more power, he would surely knock the **** out of Joshua...a shorter fat Ortiz did just that and he's not as skilled as Usyk is.

Usyk wasn't dropped by Glowacki. He went over in the 12th after Glowacki stood on his lead foot and pushed him. The ref callled it as a trip and no count was given. Usyk has never been down or visibly hurt in his whole career.

The cruiserweight division was universally recognised as one the most stacked and competitive in the sport going in to the WBSS tournament, which is why the tournament generated the amount of interest it did.

As for your Glowacki triangle theory ... the fight before he got stopped in 6 by Okolie, Glowacki was stopped in 3 by Briedis, who lost to Usyk in the WBSS semi finals.

He was great at cruiserweight but his lack of power will stop him progressing at heavy.

This video gives a nice break down on his style and tricks. A lot of what he does is throw out shots of varying power and speed. This keeps the opponent guessing and he throws out low power shots that he doesnt have to commit much to and not risk a counter, mixed with full power hard shots, to get the opponent lax in their defense and get caught with the bigger shots.

Problem is this style doesnt work when your opponent doesnt respect your power and is not afraid of ANY of your shots like the chisora fight, chisora just walked through him throwing bombs and he was lucky that chisora is shot and slow. Usyk's style doesnt have the intended effect and he had to throw full power shots the whole time just to keep chisora at bay and move around a lot, that uses up more energy and gives his opponent more counter opportunities. Yeah he escaped with a UD because chisora never landed but again this is shot chisora, the prime guys will be able to land.

Its not really a size problem, his height, weight and reach are fine. His speed is fine. His power just hasnt carried up. There are a lot of heavyweights in the 220s that have power. Look at someone like Povetkin who weighs within 5-10 pounds of Usyk, he has normal heavyweight power where one slip up can end a fight. At 40 years old he setup one shot that whyte didnt see and it was lights out. That is normal for heavyweights but Usyk doesnt have that threat.

Very good. To add a bit he takes a good punch and can operate at a high workmate for 12 rounds. Not an easy guy to beat. He's not a fantastic talent though. With Fury and Joshua at the top you don't have to be! Age is catching up Usky a bit, they will avoid him and make him wait.
