Hes right but this recent **** is not a good look for MMA tbh. Its being set up to be in an impossible position pretty much, especially when it comes to fighting Jake Paul. You win and you're a UFC guy who beat a Youtuber, you lose and you're a UFC guy who lost to a Youtuber who took up boxing 3 years ago. And there seems to be no shortage of ex-UFC names willing to go along with it for a payday.

I suspect that if it carries on for much longer the UFC is going to start pulling Randy/Toney style BS again or allow those Paul tards to fight in the UFC in some capacity. Then this garbage will have successfully contaminated two different sports.

I respect MMA fighters but too many are insecure. This guy turned down a (career high?) payday vs 50 year old broken down coke addict drag queen DLH, then talks this nonsense.

If you're a young guy with some fighting ability you can go for big money boxing if you're good enough or accept far less and go for an MMA career if you can't cut it in boxing. According to internet, Alvarez started boxing aged 8? If he'd been better at it he'd be far more well known and financially successful by now, shame he wasn't up to it and is still bitter all these years on.

Its not as simple as that. Most MMA fighters come from a wrestling background as MMA is the logical next step from that because its so readily transferable. When it comes to the pay thing, yeah at the elite levels boxers get paid more, but its crazy money that concentrated into a small number of fighters. The talent pool for MMA is much smaller and the UFC nowadays has 700+ fighters on the roster, thats a decent percentage of all active MMA pro fighters on the planet. So your chances of getting into the UFC, getting good exposure and making a few hundred grand per fight are considerably higher than making it to a level in boxing where you're getting paid millions per fight.

I think it depends on the individuals involved but generally speaking, yes MMA would be more beneficial for a real fight.
