haven't seen woodley fight in years but he was a hell of a wrestler and athlete and a champion and he does have power. this is a step up from a dude coming off of a hip replacement for sure. paul won't be matched yet with anyone with much of a chance, so the matchmakers surely know something we do not once again. people around him, including f@cking showtime, are starting to see the potential dollar signs. this dude is going to fight floyd mayweather as "redemption" for his brother on showtime PPV and it's going to be the biggest "boxing match" of the year. it will likely be an exhibition as they are 50 lbs apart.

i'll be watching it but i don't pay for showtime any more

Woodley just seems too small. He probably has better boxing skills, maybe he can take it into deep waters if it's scheduled for enough rounds. If this Paul twat can't land anything in the first couple of rounds does he panic? Does he burn off too much energy looking for another 1st round KO? Woodley, at least psychologically, can handle most fight situations whether things are going his way or not. The longer it goes the more I'd favour him

Interesting seeing some people say Jake will get decapitated and others asking why he's cherry picking a smaller, shot, MMA fighter. In actuality, Woodley has been training to punch longer than Jake has and cuts a lot of weight to make 170lbs. This is a fair matchup.

he is a career welterweight and he's in his late 30's guy. almost 40. 5'9" and not one of those welterweights who came down from 220 lbs and walked into the ring at 195 or anything. 4 losses in a row, mma fighter with a wrestling background. very much shot.

it's an interesting fight and a a step up but we know what this is. paul is going to get moved along "properly" in the sense that he will not get matched with guys who can beat him until he's in there for a ton of money. they are eyeing floyd mayweather, clealry.

170 but he probably walks around close to 200 & heavily set.

He is explosive, fast-twitch with not much outside of an overhand right but he does pack some power and the MMA community for whatever reason hold him in fairly regard as far as boxing ability goes.

He's been dominated in his last 4 but those were all to elite grapplers.

Its definitely a big step up and way greater risk than a Ben Askren. This is a bad look for MMA if Woodley losses.
