he's right to say that it would be a terrible look for boxing and floyd and an embarrassment more than anything else. but that's not a good reason to not allow it. you're scared of your boxer losing to a youtuber? booo booo hoo.
this is an exhibition agreed upon by two parties. you don't have to watch it, you don't need to fight for the belt if you're a contender in floyd's division. stop complaining because you don't have the personality or 20 year track record needed to make seven or eight figures off of an exhibition.Comment

unlikle his brother jake, logan paul does not box and doesn't spend time the in tehgym. he's just some youtuber who is athletic enough to look the part. jake paul spars and trains hard and has improved and would beat the bag out of most of you guys and that['s just a reality.Comment

Yes it is painful to watch as quite likely Ali did not train for this exhibition but also his body was breaking down and he simply wasn't capable of fighting (even if he was in shape and really motivated). Plus, Alzado was far stronger, and it showed. Those close to Ali should not have allowed him to participate in this exhibition, and if nothing else, it should have been apparent that Ali should never have fought again regardless of the circumstances. It was truly a sad affair.Comment

The fella is even thinking about Floyd losing. Come on,man! Logan's gorilla swings will be easily dealt with and countered in old school Floyd style. It's goinhg to look good against a big stiff wrestler like LP. I don't see it as a match up, just a good ole whooping on a guy that's even more of an azzhole that Money Mayflower himself.Comment

Did you even watch this exhibition? Ali clowned and toyed with Alzado who did absolutely nothing to Ali. There was nothing sad about it. Ali obviously wasn't trying to "win" or hurt Alzado. That's why it's called an exhibition. I don't even think you ever watched it judging by your comments.

you think it's a coincidence that these youtubers took over in a pandemic, where gate and casino money is a moot point, and while the networks are in the process of getting out of boxing?
that's boxing's fault, man! hbo didn't want in on boxing any more becuse nobody watches it or buys ppv or cable subs. too much money and not enough return. these youtube kids bring in their own audience and you will need those kids to watch boxing in the coming generations if you want it to survive!
furthermore they will need to hash out a method for distributing these fighst that is palatable and something people will actually pay for in an era where you can find a damn near 1080P stream at 60 frames for free.
current, active full time boxers have been avoiding big fights and taking less risky fights for short money to hold onto titles and make money with them for years. don't blame youtube kids for the fact that it's indredibly rare for truly great fighters to fight on even terms and in their primes. shall we blame logan paul for tyson fury and anthony joshua not taking place in 2020 or 2021? or shall we blame the pandemic, the networks, casino money, and the other actual reasons for the fight not taking place?

I was never a fan of these exhibition bouts. Retired boxers getting back in the ring. How would a 44-yr. old Mayweather losing an exhibition fight leave a mark on Boxing? This is so ridiculous! Boxing, as a sport, is very insecure right now! Scared of MMA, scared of Triller, just scared of everything! Showtime just gave us a delicious treat this past weekend, and we're all supposed to be nervous about Mayweather vs. Paul? We have more important things to be worried about! Things like, "who is on the U.S. Olympic Boxing Team?" That's what we should be worrying about! Are our children learning the sport anymore? That should be our greatest concern!
At first, with Tyson vs Jones, it was a joke and that’s fine, but it’s caught too much traction. Now, everyone wants a piece of that. The problem is that now, these boxing bouts, that mean absolutely nothing I might add, are more mainstream and more important, than real bouts with top tier boxers.
This is the new era of boxing and it’s scary. We are in an era where most people hear about “boxing” and they think of this. This is what our sport is to the mainstream viewer. Shows on Triller with 90% filler. ****** live music, ****** commentary, ****** WWE type fluff, with about 10% real boxing.
The Spence, Crawford, Timo Lopez, Tyson Fury, Josh Taylor, the top echelon guys who make boxing play second fiddle to the meaningless exhibition bouts of has beens and never weres.
Honestly, boxing has itself to blame. All the different promotional outfits, the “build up” bouts, the “protected” stars, the failed negotiations and top stars who don’t fight each other. All of that has reached a point where all the compelling bouts that we have called for never happened or they happened too late.
Instead of the sport evolving to force top tier boxers into highly competitive and compelling bouts, it has evolved to an irrelevant Mayweather vs a YouTube star, and that’s the best we can get.Comment
