Comments Thread For: Hearn: We Can Pay Teofimo A Lot More To Face Haney Than He'll Make To Fight Josh Taylor

LAS VEGAS - Eddie Hearn realizes Teofimo Lopez has an appealing option other than Devin Haney if Lopez defeats George Kambosos Jr. on June 19. Haney's promoter firmly feels Haney is the opponent Lopez should fight next. He wouldn't fault the undefeated, unified lightweight champion, though, if he opted to move up from 135 pounds to 140 to challenge undisputed junior welterweight champ Josh Taylor.

Arum wants Teofimo to fight Haney, but Teofimo wants to fight Josh Taylor! If Taylor is going to fight Catterall, then Lopez vs. Haney makes perfect sense! The problem is "can Hearn & Arum work together" after the Fury vs. Joshua negotiations?

I wonder how he knows what fighters from other promotions and outfits are making of he was surprised by the home that Charlo had when he showed him. And it makes you ask if that’s truly the case, if he can pay all these fighters more, why didn’t more boxers sign with him when he came to the USA.....Spence, Wilder, Crawford, the Charlos, Russell, etc etc

At the time DAZN was a new concept and people were questioning the long term sustainability. Not really the case anymore. DAZN has been making some big moves as of late with plans of making more moves.

Can you be a little bit more specific about how he knows what they make and why other American fighters arnt signing with him? Do we (you) know for a fact that he’s paying more than they are making?

No one in their right mind would leave Top Rank or PBC where they have mass exposure to fight on DeadZone. I also don't believe he'll pay more. Eddie lies a lot.

No one can know for sure without looking at the individual contracts. But you asked why other fighters didn’t sign with DAZN and I told you why.

he paid mikey 7 million to fight jessie vargas.

He offered charlo 7 million to fight andrade.

They gave ggg a 100 million dollar contract.

Eddie even put up a higher bid than bob for lopez vs kambosos

Its pretty obvious eddie can pay teo more than top rank is willing to pay. Bob just loss a mandatory fight to triller because he's so cheap.

Edward doesn’t realise it’s a mismatch, Lopez at this time would KO Haney , the boy tried to fight more aggressively against a old fighter who had already been Ko’d 5 times and nearly got ironed out himself. Lopez has a tough fight next which I pick him to win but Haney should get back to Hearn picking easier fights for him ....unless it’s yet another smash and grab by young Edward

the hell with exposure. You would be a fool to stay with pbc or top rank if dazn is paying more.

Mikey got more fo fighting Vargas on dazn than he got for his ppv with Spence.

Highest bidder wins. Family cant eat views. Guaranteed money is what matters.

Broner still looking dumb for turning down 40 million with roc nation. He never reached 40 million in career earnings til this day
