In Canelo's case there was a different reason for dropping the belt to Golovkin, yes. Lomachenko on the other hand only dropped the WBC belt for one specific reason.

There's no knots here. You're just too ****** to admit when you've been beaten in argument.

I've never defended Canelo for accepting Franchise Champion status against Charlo. Nice try but that isn't going to save you from taking your L.

The arrogance of someone as dumb as you, thinking that you are in some way 'winning' here, is incredible. The pride of fools knows no limits.

Any sane person would know Canelo dropped the belt rather than face GGG. Look who his next 2 fights were after that time, before GGG.

Alternatively, look at who Loma fought immediately after that designation - Lopez - someone much more dangerous than Haney.

You, as usual, are unable to separate obvious facts from your emotions and what you want to be true.

Anyone accusing Loma, of all people, of ducking Haney, of all people, is a grade A idiot. But to be honest you prove that all the time on here. So just another feather in your cap.

It amazing that a thread about Devin Haney’s beauty pageant father can turn into a thread about Canelo

I didn't know Davidson was hired to help in Haney's corner.
But seeing him there giving the kid water and trying to sneak in instructions between Haney's dad's had me thinking he was hired as some sort of promotional ploy.
Kinda like when Mayweather would have Justin Bieber and Lil Wayne walk him to the ring.

A comment was made that Devin Haney was popular only because of social media and him pretending that people are ducking him.

It was pointed out that Haney has the WBC belt precisely because Lomachenko dropped it to avoid having to fight him. Bringing up Canelo was a desparate attempt by Boxing-1013 to deflect from that.

I'm embarrassed for that poster and apologize on his behalf.

Didn’t they make him the off-brand champ though? I vaguely remember something like that. That the belt he had wasn’t considered the super/real champion.

                Even the WBC isn't sure.

"Sulaiman spoke to ‘The AK and Barak Show’ to formally outline his view.

Asked if Lopez or Haney was the real title holder or whether it was both of them, Sulaiman told Sirius XM the following: “It’s both of them."

It's not his father. It's the honorary gypsy Ben 'shameless' Davison.

He almost got fury knocked out, robs taylor of a KO, aand now is getting back to getting his fighter nearly knocked out

By doing so, Haney gave Linares his only path to victory. Shockingly (sarcasm) , the three division champion took that path and almost won.

Probably the dumbest strategy I’ve seen implemented by a world champion in recent memory.

Haney is a 22 year old kid and he’s going to get too emotional. The professional boxing trainer is supposed to prevent that from happening.

Instead, Bill Haney fed into the issue.

                    He should be let go.
His old man has been talking about bringing in different trainers for different fights to work alongside him, such as Davison for this one.

Although I don’t think it’s a bad thing to learn from different people and get different perspectives, Does it show a lack of self belief in his own abilities as head trainer?
