Yeah I'm honestly so confused? He fought beautifully in an exciting fight for 10 rounds, got hurt and held for 2 rounds which is absolutely the right thing to do.

In the UK the hometown fighter gets cheered on to hang in there and bring home the W. The Americans boo a 22yr old fighter for doing the same thing? WTF

Well garcia is running scared for a reason and Lopez wouldn't even give Loma a rematch and remember Loma was down against Linares so you have no point here

Dude was holding and clinching half the fight, not just the last 2 rounds. This was a fight where Haney was supposed to make a statement-the 2nd fight against chinny former has been champs. Anything other than a stoppage was always going to look bad.Keep in mind, all that clinching, backfoot, smothering was Haney's attempt at being exciting and making that statement. He's also the first fighter to invent the "superman clinch"....he's boring as all hell.

So....What we witnessed was Haney's cherry-pick against a 2nd consecutive low punch resistant opponent and he still didn't deliver anything out of the ordinary. Haney is packin glass in that chin-no way should you compare him to Floyd who did have power in the smaller weights. Haney put everything into his punch and couldn't even get a blink from chinny as hell Linares.

So you think guys are ducking Haney because they are scared or he is boring? After the display of his glass chin and Malignaggi-esque power, I am pretty sure he'll get opponents-IF he wants them.
I for one would give these champs a pass if they starve out spoilers like Haney. He doesn't make great fights...his attempt at making a statement turned into a clinchfest and backfoot session. Boxing don't need vaginas like this-Floyd's gone already.

Interviewer: " Were you hurt at the end of the tenth round when Jorge Linares seemed to catch you with a good shot?"

Haney: "I wasn't hurt. Sometimes when you get hit with a good shot, I wasn't hurt, you just have to box smart, I wasn't hurt, and do what you have to do to win, I wasn't hurt."

Lol, how many times did this guy say "I wasn't hurt" in one sentence.

Haney is a good evasive boxer with quick hands and decent variety, Linares is a old fighter who's been ko'd five times but Haney never looked like making it six. When Linares connected with a decent punch at the end of r.10 Haney was out on his feet and held for the next two. Lopez would destroy this kid.

I gave Haney some crap before the fight but now I’m a fan. For being only 22 he showed some dog in there. I was impressed with him especially when he was aggressive AND HURT. Tuff fight but he showed me something.
