It's funny how beating a C level fighter can suddenly make you a top 10 PFP fighter..

At the end of the day you have to consider the benefits / gains.

If Hopkins beats RJJ everyone will say that RJJ was past his prime.

They would also say that when they fought in their primes RJJ was the better person. What does that gain Hopkins.

    ___

Now by Hopkins fighting Adamek he faces a better challenge ... fightinga guy at a heavier weight class. (Let's also not forget that so many guys on this forum accuse Hopkins of fighting smaller guys). This also not the first time he would have done this... Hopkins went up two weight divisions to fight Tarver (smaller guy, i think not and also who gave RJJ his first pro loss).

RJJ needs Hopkins now. Hopkins doesn't need RJJ, he never did. He's managed himself and he doesn't let any one impose rules on him.

    He makes the rules

    Simple as ...

"winner takes all" is a deal breaker for any boxer. nobody signs those kind of contracts. NO BODY.

Not even RJJ would accept that if BHOP offered it to RJJ after the Tito fight.

        Depends on the situation.

BHop has that Adame kfight coming up.

If he didn't he should have taken this.

He is just terrible these days.

He's not p4p top 10. I just feel he looked a lot better than he did in previous performances.

And there still are fights for him. I remember him saying that he wanted to go after Tarver and Johnson again.

The Manfrdo fight was the only one I thought he legitimately won IMO.

He's 0-4 in his last 4 as fasr as I'm concerned.

winner takes all is A LOT better than 60-40 if he believes he would win.

                  Which I believe he does.

                    - "RJJ would beat Hopkins"

I'm sorry but some people have no boxing logic.

Hopkins has in almost all his fights been the underdog ...

... ODD, Trinidad, Tarver and most recently Pavlik

everyone has this assumption that all he does is clinch

i don't understand how someone can clinch there way to be considered a top ten PFP fighters

Hopkins would own RJJ if they fought again ... end of debate.
Who said RJJ was a top 10 p4p fighter?
                    Nobody.
