Malignaggi said nothing controversial. Bring him back

Big fcking deal. What has it been 10 minutes without talking about black peoples problems? That's all this country ever does is "have a conversation".
I could see Showtime firing him for getting humiliated by Conor and his mate, but for making an objective call? C'mon..Comment

Since the US spent the first 245 years solely focused on white people, I think we can give black people 10 minutes.
And is that even the issue?
I think the issue is a ViacomCBS employee publicly made a racist statement and refused to apologize.
He would have kept his job if he had some humility ... but he has none.

I agree with you but politics got him.
Malignaggi seems like a smart dude, he should have known better honestly.
He said something about black fighters when there was a lot of unrest and protesting among black people in the country. Whether you agree or not, or no matter what side you're on. Fact is there was a lot of protesting and sh/t, at that time. He simply should have known better. There's a time and a place for everything.
A white/Italian dude talking about "it's no longer the time of the African American anymore in boxing. It's all about dem Euros now baby, they're the most dominant now." It's just an ill-advised comment to make.
Tbf, he was responding to Haney's racist ass comment, who also caught a lot of flack for his ****** comment. But Haney can't exactly get fired. Malignaggi can. Politics.

He made a fair point
Maybe he could’ve put it across and elaborated a bit better.
The top and bottom of it was Haney said he would never let a white guy beat him. Paulie in his own way was just saying that there’s good fighters everywhere, and it’s not a sport dominated by black people now. It was probably not put across too well but that was his point.
Let’s be real, had a white fighter said “I’ll never lose to a black guy” - every promoter and broadcaster would refuse to work with them.
Haney should keep that stuff out of boxing anyway. Hopkins used to say that stuff and look how it turned out for him.Comment

well that big tard who said covid is a hoax and got 600 thousand people killed will be back and welcomed with open arms so why cant paulie come back? is there maybe a fox boxing channel he can be on where paulie and some hot blonde women talk about how black and brown people are taking over boxing and how we must stop themComment

That's not true at all. Alan Minter made the same comments before figuring Marvin Hagler. If didn't affect his career at all. Kovalev called a black person a monkey and used the N word and it didn't even make a dent in the news. Didn't hurt his career either.

Malignaggi went as far to say racism and oppression against black people never existed in this century. He also tried to downplay the deaths of George Floyd and Ahmaud Arbery. It wasn't just his comments about African American fighters.
But the thread starter is a racist himself so it's not shocking that he didn't have a problem with the comments. Funny how he was offended earlier when someone questioned the customs of Saudi Arabia. Some people like to pick and choose what's offensive based on how it affects them.Comment

Yeah its crazy how it works. Even then theres onlyone white fighter in or around haneys weight class and he doesn't even wanna fight him
