This has nothing to do with Floyd. Using your logic, he would have already made up for his loss to Floyd when he beat Thurman. All the PAC-haters immediately dismissed the win. Pacquiao could have found a much easier fight for the same or more money. He fights the best to be the best. He knows Floyd won’t have the balls to fight him again. I wouldn't overthink it. I'm sure Pac's primary focus has been on balancing what opponents people expect with what makes financial sense. Eg fighting Adrien Broner was a good fight at the time, but fighting that sort of opponent now wouldn't exactly have the same appeal.


Spence is a logical step up in quality (or, it would be if he wasn't 42) and is about as big a name as is available in the division.
