Thats a matter of personal opinion. Myself, I look for a bit of both. When it come to one punch power Im not sure there was a featherweight besides Alexis Arguello who hit as hard as Hamed going by what I've seen. Manny has great power, but he wears guys down more than he ko's them with one punch. He batters them first. Hamed seemed like he had the capacity to score a ko with the first punch of any fight.

As far as opponents faced, Pac has the advantage. This doesn't mean Hamed fought bums though.

Some people dont really get it. Julian Jackson didnt have the greatest resume yet he's still considered one the hardest punchers ever.

That maybe true but still would not take away from the maximum punching power Nas had.....which was immense for a man his size. No one is saying Pac isn't overall better than Nas he certainly is as I have stated in this thread already. Pointing to the level of competition, is not the best argument in favor of Pac because more skilled fighters like MAB did, would have neutralized Nas's power with superior technique so his power wouldn't be much of a factor in proposed fights with Nas vs better opposition. I am going by fights I have watched in the past and from what I have seen and p4p Nas's 1 punch ko power > Pac's.

You see, this is an assumption not based on any fact what so ever. And Kevin Kelley was not only a champion, but a solid top 10 fighter for years. Hardly something to look past. I mean, come on now. Should I use Oscar Larrios to make a point that Pac doesn't hit as hard as Hamed? Point is, they're different kinds of punchers. Hamed just happens to be the one with better one punch power, in my opinion.

Manny put Hatton to sleep with 1 punch so he clearly has 1 punch power. Naz looks good when you factor in the competition and I know some will argue against that. But at the end of the day when you judge how great a guy hits it should be his overall body of work with more weight on how he did against the better fighters. Is it really fair to say a guy like Said Lawal or whatever who got hit 4 times and was KO'd proves Naz had more power than Manny when he KO'd MAB and Erik who were 1000x better in every way.

but still you have to factor in the quality of those he fought

if we go by your logic then Edwin Valero is the greatest KO artist of all time

Well no, cos Naz didnt "only fight bums" as some would have you believe. This is the only man in decades to win all four belts at featherweight.

And Valero is probably a harder pucher P4P than Pac too. Its not a knock on Pac - that dude has a lot more going for him than just pure punch power.

Earnie Shaver, widely considered the hardest hitting heavyweight of all time lost a decision to a guy named Bob Stallings in 1974. At the time Stallings was 20 and 25 and had already been stopped 7 times. Do we say Shavers really wasn't the puncher he has been crack up to be because of this?

Yep. People are blurring the lines between overall greatness and just pure punch power. Pac wins the former easily but Naz edges the latter.

Your acting as if he fought nothing but cans, I just looked up his record right now did some quick adding and his last 10 opponents have a combined 361 wins and 27losses. He hasn't fought the level of opposition that Pac has other than Kelly of course but still good fighters.
