Comments Thread For: Hearn: We Hope Team Fury Can Solve This Problem, But We Have To Look Out For Anthony Joshua

For months, Eddie Hearn has been tasked with keeping all parties abreast of the progress made for a superfight between British heavyweights Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua. Those plans were seriously compromised through damage caused by the other side, and now it's the promoter's turn to set a deadline for a final answer.

The timing of these stories seem to be a bit off. Eddie Hearn made these statements yesterday on Monday the 18th. Since that time Bob Arum has already announced the trilogy date of the Wilder/Fury bout for July 24th.

One can't blame Eddie for the surprising turn of events. Arun is somewhat guilty of assuming that the court case would definitely go their way.

Now, annoyingly, Wilder is back in the picture. Fury and Joshua shouldn't have any problem beating any other heavyweight, but it's a strange sport. Hopefully plans won't be wrecked for them to still fight sometime.

Have a feeling Fury and Arum knew in advance what decision to expect, at least a couple of weeks in advance. They saw what way the arbitrator was leaning by the type of questions he was asking at those meetings, maybe also giving some other hints...etc. And their last meeting with him was what, 2-3 weeks ago?
Also, Fury's and MTK's "announcement" of AJ fight just 24 hours before the ruling became public(!).
        Too many "coincidences".

Eddie got his wish. He knew the fight wasn't going to happen but he fooled everybody into believing he was doing all the running around when all he did was contact the organisers of the AJ vs Ruiz 2 fight.

It doesn't take much for Eddie to fool these mis-matchroom morons.

Arum and Fury are mayweathering Joshua to set up some third circus rig job with wilder to try to revive the alabama fraud as a lucrative asset. Expect another wilder fury fake draw to steal yo money.

For the fight everyone wants to go ahead then Wilder is going to have to be paid off - Fury can't just ditch the WBC belt because the rematch clause that's being enforced is independent of Fury's status as the champion. Usyk is already being paid off - can they afford to pay off Wilder as well, who'll surely demand more money?

There's nothing to be done except for Fury to batter Wilder again, and Joshua may as well see off the WBO's inane mandatory in the meantime.

Being a fan of this sport is agony.

Young Edward, it’s not a “problem”....there is no problem. There is a legally binding judgment regarding a legally binding contract. I don’t get what this man doesn’t understand about the situation. Move on hairplugs, go seek world domination elsewhere

How about fighting them both on the same night? Obviously Wilder will get dusted up in a few rounds leaving Fury feeling nicely warmed up for the big one agaisnt AJ. If it makes sense, it makes money, probably.
