If I understand it correctly it comes with a free 3 month dazn membership which imo (you can disagree) is a smart strategy. The aim is to get these people to try out dazn after they purchased the "PPV" and become subscribers.

Some americans don't like DAZN because its a UK company fronted by Eddie, its ridiculous as DAZN is superb value and as of last weekend their production quality is now A grade.

Canelo's guarantee isn't coming out of Showtime's or Fox's budget. It will be coming out of Al Haymon's budget. Neither broadcasting network's licensing fees could cover Alvarez' guarantee; Which would be somewhere between 25-30M dollars. Which is why the fights would be broadcast on PPV; Where the PBC would assume all of the financial risks. Al Haymon has already offered Canelo a three fight $75M dollar deal upon learning of his promotional free agency.

$25mil were for Canelo dates for 3 fights. Canelo had better advisory on the scope of the pandemic. Canelo is obviously making more with DAZN. Haymon should’ve offered $100mil

As boxing fans our best hope for boxing to flourish is for DAZN to thrive sign most of the top talent and constantly make the best fights . Basically become the UFC of boxing right now they are in a really good place , hopefully all boxing fans sign up .

It's not that people are reluctant to watch sports on an app. The fact is, boxing is just not main****** in America anymore, so your average casual fan just isn't going to pay $20 to purchase the app to watch it on, especially to see fights they don't care about. Less than 1% of the population will watch Crawford fight on ESPN, and even less watch the crap the PBC puts on Fox for free.

true, thats another reason. This boxing board isnt really representative for the general population, but I was still suprised how many people took offense by watching boxing on an app when DAZN launched in the US.

If Haymon cares about boxing he will take his portfolio to DAZN and make his fighters happy. I think industry is waiting for Al to acknowledge this move. Haymonites take things too personal… if PBC was stronger I wouldn’t mind Canelo doing a deal with PBC but realistically they can’t afford it and their programming has gotten worse. We just want good fights and all PBC fans want their Haymon fighters to fight Canelo

I think most boxing fans would be praying he stays with DAZN. I know I am. Am currently watching him as part of my monthly sub for £2 per month. To watch Taylor v Ramirez I have to pay £10 on PPV for that one fight…. honestly I know which one I would choose. Easily
