AJ fans: If the combo Wilder dropped Fury with that late in the fight couldn't keep him down, what will? How does AJ outbox Fury? I'm genuinely interested in the opinions of fans who understand the game. I just don't see a route to victory for Joshua. He gasses, he doesn't recover quickly when buzzed, he doesn't like pressure. When clipped his fundamentals go right out of the window.

Fury's record is suspect just like BJS's was. If Joshua wins - a lot of people are going to revise Fury's career. "OH wait!!! why did Fury only fight one top-20 fighter in 5 years??", "Duh! why were we so ******?"
One day Fury fans will realize Joshua got beat because he actually fought top-10 opponents almost every other fight. Who was that guy Fury fought after the first Wilder fight? Exactly!

First, this is being portrayed as a new story, but this is the second article I've read this week with the same quotes from the same interview. So recycled.
Second, Fury is full of it. Gypsy magic in the air. We were going to see a boxing masterclass from Billy Joe. Canelo would lose to a unanimous decision.
As well as saying he is indestructible, unbeatable, he also says he is the best looking and best dressed heavyweight. Anyone taking these words literally and uncritically should take care in life as they are susceptible to being fleeced by the first con man they run into.Comment

This has to be one of the dumbest threads, with some of the most ridiculous things postulated by some of the more IQ challenged joshua fan base. There are intelligent reasons some may consider joshua able to win, none of which are in this thread. I think fury will win. But that does not excuse posting absolute Bllocks as to the reason why. lets look at some of the special olympic brilliant minds division shall we?
1) Joshua has fought top ten while fury has fought shiate. The general level of competition in the division is crap. There are some talented first rate fighters among the crap. Ruiz is one of them, and Joshua is one and one with him. Wilder is another and Klitchko of course. Its not that big of a distinction that one guy may have fought fighters out of the group who are slightly better. Fury beat the best out there with ease. He had one mistake and showed it did not get him a loss.
2) Any win fury gets is due to luck... the klit fight was simply... oh a fluke of one sort or another... and Fury's chin is crap, any heavyweight can get up from a wilder shot point blank, doesn't mean nuthin... REALLY?
3) Joshua is some level of fighter Fury has not encountered... Well, explain this one. Is Joshua talented? yes. what does he do so well that gives him an advantage over fury?

You can hate fury all you want. But there comes a time when you have to separate that from recognizing he’s the best heavyweight of recent years.Comment

Obviously Fury is way faster on his feet and with his hands than AJ so he gets outboxed on the outside all night long. Fury is (relatively) pillow fisted though (just because he bullied and smashed over a glass canon bambi legs doesn't mean he suddenly has huge power). So AJ needs to cut off the ring, get on the inside which won't be too hard as he doesn't have to worry too much about anything scary coming back at him, unlike say if he was fighting Wilder. Fury has no inside game aside from leaning on you and Joshua is deadly on the inside.
That is how AJ wins, one of those massive uppercuts or a short hook on the inside. The only way Fury wins is how he beat Wlad, dancing and running around all night. The difference is where he befuddled Wlad with that, AJ will be expecting it and have a plan to deal with it and get on the inside and do damage.Comment

I was a Fury fan first and still am and I like AJ ...
AJ won't wait to land one combo late, he does plant his feet to unload like Widler, he lands much more and connects more. Wilder only connected the first time because Fury was an unfit recovering drug addict.
Fury is open to the body according to Wallin / Whyte, he has a horrible habit of showboating when he is on top and some lovely scar tissue below his eye to open up which AJ can jab at if you have been watching Wilder for a while I may have to explain what a jab is.
I've got a feeling Fury will do it but don't listen to Americans who only appear to have watched the last Wilder fight (they all said he was rubbish after the Klitschko win)

No offence but that's not how boxing works. Plenty of fighters survive big punchers and then get knocked out by some other less-powerful puncher. It's all about how and where a punch lands and how powerful it is, and how the brain hits the skull. Plenty of fighters have got up from the canvas many more times than Fury did and then got knocked out cold in a later fight. Povetkin KO'd Whyte - how can Whyte ever beat him??? - oh wait...boxing is a sport.... If I were you, I'd be looking at Fury's record and how many title defenses he has had....Comment
